I'm interested in becoming a Medieval (Dark Ages period or Feudal Age ) Archaeologist. Since my Highschool doesn't offer Latin, is there a course for it in college or do I learn it in an Anthropolgy/Archaeology course?

I have an old postcard and would love to know who the artist is.
The subjects are a lady seated in a long white dress with pearls at her neck playing a stringed bulbous musical instrument, and a man with a white wig dressed in a frock coat and white stockings leaning over her shoulder.
It is a delightful scene from a bygone age but there is no signature or date.
The picture is called "The Rehearsal"

hypnotist.

ie in the same way people don't stand up at a play and shout "Romeo &Juliet are only actors!", volunteers just play along because of social conditioning and politeness to the hypnotist.

I've inherited a couple of lovely swords from a grandparent from the English civil war era. They've been neglected a bit but I'd love to clean them up and display them. Any ideas how I would go about polishing the blades to a mirror finish and sharpening them. Would a Dremel hand tool be a relevant thing to use?
Any useful ideas welcome. Thanks.

We happily celebrate Columbus Day when all he really discovered were the Indians that had ALREADY discovered America, and we celebrate Lincoln's Birthday when he freed the slaves (yes he did) but ONLY to save the union, not because his heart was so golden and he wanted to do what's right. Who can come up with another uncommonly known fact about our Country? Knowledge is power, so lets see how powerful YOU are.

The Sweetest Farewell

Shining lines
Of tears falling down
Your perfect face
And in such simple words
An apology
My words
Trampling yours
It never was your fault
And so I will
Say my hardest goodbye
Your body shudders
Sobbing
And upon my lips you bestow
The softest kiss
My eyes close
Your footsteps fade
I find myself alone
My task is clear
My greatest desire
To set you free
Accomplished by
The sweetest farewell
My eyes sweep down
Those twenty stories
Over the railing
Hanging by
A hand
Now the release
Goodbye Kitty
I always loved you
I always will
Goodbye my Kitty
Goodbye my love

Well?

I collected over 100 answers from all over the world. I got answers from Yahoo Germany, Spain, France, Italy and U.S. The outcome is really surprising for me. I'll tell you about it later. Here is the result.

[Tomato is fruit]
United States
United Kingdom
France
China
Australia
South Africa
Russia
Mexico
Cuba

[Tomato is vegetable]
Germany
Spain
Italy
Roumania
Indnasia
Philipin
Japan

Did you notice it? I got shivered when I found it.
This resembles Alied Powers versus Axis Powers in WWII.
Why? I still can't find answer. It had got more reasonable if it was West versus East because it's recent. But why WWII? It's over fifty years ago and why does tomato relate to the war? Why Tomato??

I appreciate your comments. No offence please.
