“We can dismiss as unnecessary the question whether the soul and body are one; it is as meaningless as to ask as whether the wax and the shape given to it by the stamp are one.”

Hudson county/metro area/New York/New Jersey and Long Island/Rockaway/Long Beach

Does it help your writting more if you live in the middle of nowhere, let's say, in the woods with birds and ducks, the smell of pine and grass chasing you around with little distraction. Is the writer more effective if he is by the salty waters of the atlantic ocean with the sound of the big waves and sea eagles over your head. Does it help you to write if you are in a place where, there's just you and nature? Do you hear the voice in your head more clearly?

Can someone please write on this topic, maybe you know of some authors who live in the metro area who take advante of this gift of nature and strech their mind and pen stuff out..

I was recently told by a teacher of mine that I'm a purist... I understand (and agree with) the meaning of the term as it relates to literature, but is there something else that I'm missing?

To what extent is the brother-against-brother struggle of the Romulus and Remus myth fundamentally true as a unifying theme of Roman civil wars and to what extent does it fail to tell the whole story?

....a sales invoice for this exact piece from 1983. It was sold for $3,000. This, of course, sparked my interest. I called up the galleries that represented him, and found out that his pieces go for $5,000 to $20,000. They recently sold a 5 x 7 inch piece for $8,000. My piece is two feet by three feet. I need money (starting career & growing family) and I want to unload the piece. FYI, the artist works/lives in my city & teaches at an ivy league. My question is, how do I go about seliing this piece - knowing nothing about art sales - without getting ripped off by a more knowlegeable broker? Are there steps/caveats that I should be aware of in doing this process? Should I contact the artist? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

When actors cry in the movies, do they REALLY cry?
Did they learn to cry whenever they are told so? Or do they just pretend it and the tears and the red eyes are some kind of tricks?
