Besides the musicians, what are the other duties associated with these large ensembles? In other words, are there people who have regular jobs working with/for all the symphonies and orchestras? Do they go on tour like a small band?

In a (3/4) song I made, in one measure three notes are played. The first has 3 beats to it, the second 2, and the last 1. Meaning, each is played as a quarter note, but held down until the end of the measure.

Would I draw that as three quarter notes with slurs between them? If not, how would I make that?

I don't even know how many there are, or what they're all called. All I've been exposed to are the 1939 movie, and Wicked. Thought it was time to go back to the basics. :)

Also, which medium do you prefer? The movies, the original books? Wicked as a book or a play?

I was carrying my Harry Potter book around the other day when I noticed people watching me. That got me wondering how many of those people have read the books themselves. So as a simple survey: How old were you when you read Harry Potter? (I'm 25)

Lately, several authors have written historical fiction about Biblical people, such as The Red Tent by Anita Diamant and The Gilded Chamber by Rebecca Cohn. I was wondering if there are any novels about the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

I think I would like to be a pioneer in the Canadian wilderness. I know it was the absolute roughest thing imaginable to do, but imagine all that land. Such beauty and splendor. And at the end of the day I'd have a rugged woodsman to go to bed with and our kids would sleep in cute little pioneer clothes. You'd fall asleep content knowing you did an honest day's work.

I'd also like to have lived in the 1940s or '50s for the gorgeous style!
