There were two different things going on in Nazi Germany so far as this question is concerned.
One was the attempt to exterminate the Jews as the perceived enemies of Germany and the racially "valuable" Aryans. This started by persecution, went on to mass murder and ended in the extermination camps.
Second there was the attempt to create a unified "racial community" where everyone had the same physical, mental and political make-up. So the physically and mentally handicapped were murdered, the unemployed and those considered work-shy or "unreliable" were rounded up and sent to the camps to work. Homosexuals and those whose political and/or religious views didn't match the Nazis were also sent to concentration camps and worked to death.
The idea was to create a unified nation of "racial comrades" who looked, acted and thought the same way. This way was, of course, the way the Nazis thought they should look, act and think.

Good question.
Hitler theory was that Aryan race is the perfect race; they should be the most intelligent and developed race.
But unfortunately, his theory failed to fit the reality: all the other races were more intelligent and with developed culture than the Aryans; Jews for example were successful in academic and research institutes, the gypsies were excellent and talented in folklore dancing and spiritual songs. So in order to prove that his theory is valid, he needed to "change the facts"; therefore he planned to send all "the races that contradict his theory" to concentration camps. If he had succeeded, then he would have been able to claim that his theory of the super race (Aryan race) was correct.
To summarize this, Hitler was a combination of a computerized thinking machine, and a mentally disturbed person: he was a monster.

I am assuming that what you mean by "fit in" is why weren't Jews and the others persecuted by Hitler's regime considered part of the Aryan race?
Hitler was obbessed with racial purity which ended with the genocide of 11 million people total, of which 6 million were Jews, which is known as the Holocaust.
Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, and the disabled (both mentally and physcially) were sent to ghettos, work camps and the death camps because they didn't fit Hitler's idea of the pure Aryan race of the "blonde hair blue eyed" German. Hitler and his regime went far to characterize what was and was not Aryan, and they went as far as to classify sizes of noses, the size of the space between the eyes, the size of the forehead, lips, and even ears. If they were "too big" then the person was not of the Aryan race and "disposed of" properly.

Good question. Here's the short answer: Hitler's party hated more than just Jews.
They hated Communists even more, and they were the first to be interned. In fact, more Communists were killed than Jews in the death camps.
These are the kinds of people he imprisoned in the camps in a nutshell, in a vague order of priority:
communists
POWs
dissenters (meaning anybody who spoke out against the Nazis)
jews
gypsys
gays
In fact, my grandpa was a POW in a concentration camp. Boy, I'd love to tell you some of his stories.
As for the Nazi's reason for hating these people, thats much to complex to write a short answer, but I'd love to talk about it. Just drop me an email.

They were made to go to the concentration camps. There was major hatred bred into the Germans from a dictator that didn't have any love for the Jewish people or anyone else that didn't fit into his very narrow view of perfection. All people that opposed him, whether they were man, woman or child were escorted to camps by German soldiers under the command of Hitler. Of course, most people these days don't see why any of the attrocities of this period happened.

The Jews didn't voluntarily go to these concentration camps. They were forced to go to these concentration camps by the Nazi government. The Jews and others that didn't fit in were either killed or allowed to work for nothing.

Those that didn't 'fit in' were SENT to concentration camps.
What exactly was fitting in? They didn't fulfill the political agenda of the current leaders.
For example: In Germany, for Hitler's agenda (war) to be successful, he needed lots of skilled laborers. Many of the Jews were educated and were teachers, business owners, etc. This did not fulfill the agenda of that nation. So, the Jews were stripped of their possessions (homes, businesses, jobs) and sent to these concentration camps. In these places is where many of them were executed.

I don't know about ' fit in ' but I do recognize it as a judgement. Like the present day visible church. That is a judgement. All you find in a ' church ' today, is in direct opposition to what is right. Maintaining a fake veneer of holiness. Hope this helps.

Because they were forced to go there and be exterminated. Hitler didn't think of them as being part of the Aryan race.
