I think I would like to be a pioneer in the Canadian wilderness. I know it was the absolute roughest thing imaginable to do, but imagine all that land. Such beauty and splendor. And at the end of the day I'd have a rugged woodsman to go to bed with and our kids would sleep in cute little pioneer clothes. You'd fall asleep content knowing you did an honest day's work.

I'd also like to have lived in the 1940s or '50s for the gorgeous style!

I would have loved to live during the 60's. The Civil Rights movement was going on, the women's revolution, and the sexual revolution. Some of the most influential and charismatic leaders were assasinated and lived during the 60's including John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Bobby Kennedy and Malcolm X. There was great music, great movies with the ideals of peace and love. There was so much change going on during the 60's that I envy my parents for being there.

I love movies set in the chivalrous Camelot era. The landscape and wardrobes are awesome. However, I'm jumping on the bandwagon and going with the idealism of the post-war 40's and 50's. Things WERE simpler then (but not too simple ;) ).

For me its a tie between the 40's and the 60's. I love the style of both decades, for the 40's had fantastic shoes, hats and hairstyles, while the 60's very chic look to it.

You cant forget the music either!

Well, since I have been a hippy chick, I would have to go with the 1920s. It was a special time, between the two world wars and before the depression. Peace existed, however briefly.

Women were able to mix freely among men and demonstrate their own sexual power in public. They were relieved of many constraints and allowed to be openly sexual for the first time in recorded history.

And who wouldn't love to wear those tight-fitting, bias-cut, beaded gowns.

Norma Shearer rocks.

I've been through the '50s, '60s, '70s....that's in the twenteth century, of course. And that's too recent history. I'd really like to go back to American Revolution times being I identify with that era due to ancestry. But I think it would be most interesting to be in the time of when the Neanderthal roamed...maybe 35,000 years ago. I really want to know how they were.

i would love to have lived during the mid-30's - 40's as a young adult. the way the people in this country all rallied and came together for one cause was tremendous. patriotism was" a good thing", and home and family were, i think, more important than they appear today.(i stress "appear").the music was great, hollywood was still fairly new and for a few cents you could go to the theater and forget your troubles. i was born in 60. a great era but i was to young to enjoy it.

Late Eighteenth century to early Nineteenth Britain or France. Just to be around the amazing intellectual thought and writing that took place.

Today. I am very fulfilled and happy, a great family, great career. I can have a career and be me, not what my male relatives think I should be.
The only other time would be in a matriarchal period. I'm not a very good follower.
