Does anyone here know what "the itch" was. I'm doing a project on Victorian diseases, and I can't find ANY info.

I found this series to be absolutely brilliant, especially the last 3 books.
It has really inspired me to attempt to write myself!
To think that he has linked so much of his work to these books is unreal. Salems Lot, Insomnia, Desperation and the Black House to name a few!!!

I want to know a website or some other resource that has a list of some guidelines for writing genres, like fiction or mystery.
For example, I want to know if there are any guidelines as to what the plot for a mystery novel would be like.
Thanks!

Got some drafts of short stories-would it be prudent to copyright them before sending them to a literary agent-and how would you go about this?

Hello. I'm looking for a really good, I mean REALLY good English book, mustn't be a classic or something, but can. The last book I've read was Hermann Hesse's "Glasperlenspiel" ("The Glass Bead Game") and I SO loved it, that I don't dare touching another book. Whatever, my friend already knows it, in fact it was his, so I'm looking for something else (as this already is my standard gift this year for everyone else...) I know some others by Hesse, but I guess he knows them as well.

Do you know any challenging yet readable books that fit as christmas presents (I'm not talking about Ulysses or 1984 here...)

Thanks a lot!

There was a story read out in assembly when I was about 15 (a long time ago now!), that said:-

A man visited hell, everyone was starving even though there was a table full of food, all that were their had a five ft pair of chopsticks each.
A man visited heaven, everyone was well fed, yet they also had a table of food and five ft chopsticks.
The answer was simple, in heaven they were feeding each other.

What is your ideal world, how would you make heaven a place on earth?

Idle Chit-Chat

So hey, I was thinking, that whilst we’re talking here
Maybe we could spill some goss, I’m sure there’s some to share
I was hoping that you’d tell me, or even alleviate
To whom it is that has your heart, that info would be great
Is he soft and caring too, is he something special?
Will you marry him one day, or is that thought just awful?
Do you love him just so much, that inside you feel queasy?
And thinking of the future paired, is something that comes easy?
I think of that and all these thoughts, because maybe you have guessed
That deep, deep down inside of me there’s a question that I’ve missed
I wonder much, I truly do, would you join with me, not him?
Though I suppose, unfortunately, that possibility’s slim

I personally think having millions of dollars in your bank account can truly bring happiness. If u have money, all kinds of problems could be solved instantly. I mean u could be rich and be miserable or u could be poor and be miserable. I rather be rich and miserable and than be poor and and be miserable. What do u guys think??

I have just finished reading the rest of the series but I won't have a chance to read this book for a while, so I was hoping that someone can tell me what happens. What I really want to know is, is she really pregnant and if so who is the father?
Also, I have heard that this book is not that great b/c there is no plot and it is just more sex scenes like the last 4 books have had and no one gets killed.

There is a rather large and ornate memorial plaque outside the Indian Embassy building on the Strand dedicated in memory of 'Jim Morrison D.C.' but this isn't the sane Jim Morrison from The Doors because he died in the 70s. Does anyone know who this particular Jim Morrison is? And any more information about him, what he did and so on? Thanks very much in advance. '_'
