The Iliad covers a 10 day period near to the end of the Trojan War. The Odyssey tells more details about the whole war, though it mainly covers Odysseus' travels as he returns from the war. p.s. Vergil wrote the Aeneid, not the Iliad... the Aeneid tells of Aeneas' travels after he fled Troy, ending up in Italy and founding the... well, foundations... of the Roman empire.

Hi. "The Iliad", as Ilium was the greek name for Troy. It is an epic poem rather than a book, though. "The Odyssey" tells of Odysseus attempting to get home afterwards. There were other works By Homer about the wars, apparently, sadly all lost.
Cheers, Steve.

Like others have said... The Illiad.
Why are people saying The Odyssey? It's about Odysseus' journey home from Troy not the Trojan war itself.

The Illiad. Pretty accurate about a lot of things but not to be taken for spiritual content. Check this book;
