What do you think about the prequels (house corrino, house atreides and the butlerian jihad series) written by Frank herberts son? I think that he is destroying frank herbert's legacy. Brian is a lousy writer

Harry Potter, How to Eat Fried Worms, James and the Giant Peach, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I mean Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are classics! I also saw the To Kill A Mockingbird is on the list. I mean I guess people say that it is "racist" but it is a classic and the main character is defending a minor! I was an actual part of history and yes people should be sorry for it, but it happened and there is no reason to ban a classic.

Okay, so just, if you can, tell me why some of these books are banned and what you think about them. Do you agree that they should be banned or not?

In the Peirs Anthony series of novels "Incarnations in immortality" the world (both humans and metaphysical deities) came to the conclusion that God was no longer serving his purpose and ultimately voted him out of office. They came to this decision due to the outdated rules about bastards and unbaptised babies suffering eternity in hell even though they themselves had done nothing to deserve it. I'd personally vote him out of office for his complete apathy towoards what's happening on this planet, considering he's supposedly wiped out the entire human race three times as punishment for bad behavior. Do you think God is still doing his job (or anything for that matter)and if we were to impeach him, what qualities would you look for in his successor?

P.S> if philosophers can ponder time travel and whether superman can breed, they can ponder this one as well--putting it in the religion section wouldn't get me answers, it would get me rebuked, chastised and prayers for my ruination.

Lord Krishna to Arjuna, "Now listen. as regards ourselves and all these kings and others who have gathered here, it is not true to say that they will live long or meet with sure death. If you get rid of your delusion, you will realise that it is not so. What we see as birth and death are due to illusion, Maya; otherwise the entity which really exists is indestructible (101-105). Look if the wind produces ripples on the water, can we say that something is really produced? And when the wind ceases and the water becomes flat, what is it that has ceased? Think over it. "

The Key of Faith

When the world crashes on you again and again,
you must let the key of faith in.
When it seems all the doors are shut tight,
you must give a big fight,
and show no fright.
Use the key of faith,
and see the light.
The light will shine through the door,
let your fears go,
and fear no more.

Darkness Will Hide

Trapped within the walls of fear,
into the darkness she peers.
She looks for one last bit of hope,
but with the pain,
she cannot cope.
Her confidence grows thin,
feels like the hard work has never been.
The tears run down her face,
all failure falls in place.
She falls to her knees and begins to pray,
the walls slowly fall,
for fear is not to stay.
She opened her eyes,
to another side.
Now the darkness,
is the one to hide.

Feminism is asserting female strengths, such as sensitivity and protection. But feminists are agressive, competitive women. These are masculine strengths.

With the advent of feminism, women began to behave more like men. Society became unbalanced. Both men and women were being aggressive and competitive.

In an attempt to readdress this imbalance, so-called 'new men' emerged. These men were more sensitive and protective - female strengths.

So, now some women are behaving like some men used to and some men are behaving like some women used to.

The feminists - the ones asserting female strengths - are men.

In the 'battle of the sexes' no one has won and no one has lost. Men and women have simply swapped sides. So we are no nearer now to winning the true 'battle' than we ever were - the battle to understand each other.

After this year and the next, I will be off to college. I have a few novels to read during my leisure time or when I'm just bored. I'm only familiar with a few authors and I know people are reading books written by different authors. I just want some opinons on books I could bring or some authors I can try.
( I have books from Brian Jacques, John Grisham, Danielle Steel, and Sir Walter Scott.)
