After this year and the next, I will be off to college. I have a few novels to read during my leisure time or when I'm just bored. I'm only familiar with a few authors and I know people are reading books written by different authors. I just want some opinons on books I could bring or some authors I can try.
( I have books from Brian Jacques, John Grisham, Danielle Steel, and Sir Walter Scott.)

Read some Hermann Hesse - his novels are all about the search for self and the sort of thing you really appreciate when you're in your late teens. Very readable and enjoyable too (obviously). Would recommend "Demian" for starters, maybe "Narziss and Goldmund" and "Siddhartha" too.

Enjoy...

I like James Patterson. What I can't figure out is how you will have time to read these books in college? I certaintly didn't. Once I read all of my textbooks, the last thing I wanted to do was read anymore.

Well, I like horror stories, but Steven King is too far out there for me. So, I like to read anything by Dean Koontz, or John Saul. If slightly fictional with a little bit of truth is your deal, then Dan Brown (Author of Davinci Code) has a line of books out preceeding the Davinci Code. I like to use my imagination, no facts please.
