I'm writing a novel set in the London East End in the 1890's. I've got a situation where one of my characters sells an embroidered silk purse she has been given to an aquaintance from the West End... how much would she sell it for? I though a guinea? Do you agree? Then supposing she had this amount, what could she buy with it? How much would a proper bed cost? A pair of boots? Or a winter coat?? Thank you, Nicola Batty.

Is Heat Magazine, Hello, Ok and all those types of magazines leading to an unhappy society tormented by people they'll never be with material possessions and lifestyles they can never own. Anyone in London, Don't you think the the London Lite and Thelondonpaper free newspapers are basically extensions of this type of celeb-based bubble gum?

(Personally I don't read any of these magazines)

My dad passed away recently, and a couple of times now I have looked to the stars and asked him for his help in watching over my mom. I asked him to let me know that he was still here with us,and within a minute or two I saw 2 shooting stars streak across the sky. Also, there has been acouple of pictures taken inside moms house and there are clearly orbs of light in them. are these sings by him, to assure us that he will always be around?
