I spoke to a man yesterday that says it was planned. Do you believe this or not?

It was completely an accident. Poor design, shoddy construction and simian operations led to the worst meltdown in history.
As for the area being "full of life", this is true, if cancers and deformity and early death are considered "quality of life" characteristics these days.
Chernobyl blew because the Sovs had no business working with nuclear (noo-clee-ahr) energy. The number of times they botched it on subs, surface ships, military operations and at last at Chernobyl, are too numerous to mention.

I don't believe that something of this scale was planned.
It's like 9/11. To many have died and suffered from it.
Still Ukraine has some of the highest figures of Cancer especially ovarian cancer in young people.
The soil and the water in the zones surrounding it it polluted for hundreds if not thousands of years. And despite the fact that there are more wild animals, we can assume that there are more, cause there are less humans to kill them, and no matter how much wildlife there is, we don't know how healthy those animals are.
And even though you can argue that some of the air born radiation went as far as Wales and Alaska, the communist suffered to great a damage themselves to effect others.
It's daft to assume a government would do such a thing, there is nothing to gain from it.

Ever since man started with nuclear experimentation it has all been a mistake, why because everything always gets done by the cheapest bidder to cut costs and give bigger dividends to the shareholders, and unfortunately as long as our country's and governments are run by corporations and accountants things of this nature are not going to change.

It wasn't planned. However, it may have been the result of a flawed design; so in that respect, it may not have been as spontaneous as it seemed.

consider the possibilities, strange how supposedly it is an area that is flourishing with life right now, don't really know what to believe anymore, governments control the media it seems

i really think it was an accident, the design was flawed but the people didnt know it at the time. plus the people who were there died that night

yes it could be a mistake but no one know about CIA which then sweared to destroy USSR any how may be but no one really don't know.
