Though animals can 'choose', unlike humans, they are not able to understand they have done so, or that they can do so. Why is that?

i don't know what they're called (he didn't tell me, you see), but, apparently (this is all second hand, you know), they're based on NLP, or some other collection of letters. instant seduction, they say. ugliest men on earth have supermodels take THEM to dinner, they say. cat fights get ugly, permanently scarring previously supreme women, causing them to date the other really ugly guys, who don't have the speed seduction "secrets". are there hypno-disks involved? can you still get hypno-disks? they ever work for anyone? my girlfriend - see? i'm doin' just fine! - refuses to learn her place, so i thought i'd slip the hypno-disk question, in there. i wants me a hypno-disk! serious replies only, please, and thank you, in advance, for your time and patience.

In an age where art tries its best to survive and flourish against commodification (art being commodified, degraded into becoming a mere commodity rather that statement of art OR art iself). What is the place of art in an age like this?

Sydney headed to school on her Element skateboard. Her black emo cut hair swaying in the wind. Her crystal blue eyes were glistening in the sunshine. Everything was going perfect. She kicked up her board and sat by a shady tree, waiting for school to start. Yes she was a tomboy, but she didn’t care what other people thought about her. She wasn’t the most popular girl, but she had a chance to change, and be a new person.
“Another year, another school” She sighed as she slung her messenger bag over her shoulder.

‘RIIIING’ goes the morning bell. She tucks her Green Day sticker covered board underneath her arm and headed inside the building. She opens the double doors to find people… and lots of them. They were all rushing around, with books in hand. One guy ran into a locker door.
“What a nerd” she laughed. She went to the office to get her schedule and locker number.
“Uh hi, I’m Sydney Johnson. I’m the new student and I need my schedule and locker number.”

Is anyone else a deep thinker? I am one and sometimes it annoys me. I know that you can't stop thinking, but I mean I think more that most people do I think. I think deeply about everything. Sometimes that's good, but other times it just annoys me; and it annoys other people. It annoys them because I look at all the small details and stuff of everything. And I can't really help it, because it's just the way I am. Is there anyone else like this?

Is the scientific notion of cause the best?

~It states cause and effects have to be related.
~It starts off with a particular event and culminates in another.
~Both the events are someway connected i.e. the simple example of smoke and fire where fire isn't present without smoke.
~Effects are uniform if the same causes are presented i.e. if a set of people are given a same cause they will come up with the same result(the obvious argument is where does individual differences come in play? but i need some more too).
~It is one sided i.e. the cause can only cause the effect and not vice versa. for e.g the process of curdling. Milk curdles to form curd, but curd cant be changed back to milk.
~No plurality of causes exist i.e. One cause has only one effect and every effect has only one cause.

Please suggest arguments for this view...

hey! so im a novice writer, hoping to go to college to become a novelist, or a simple writer. I've written several stories but my computer has crashed a few times and i've lost them. Being discouraged it's hard for me to come up with ideas to write about. Any tips on how to get a good story rolling? oh and also how to name characters? I'm posting this in Theatre because i love to write scripts and playwrites
