If after you try all the used book stores in your area you end up with books you haven't been able to sell, you might want to consider donating them to people who may want and/or need them. The article noted in Sources below give a lot of novel ideas on how to redistribute, reuse, or (when all else fails) properly recycle used books. Good luck!

Look up an independent book shop in your neighborhood. (I don't know where you live in Manhattan) on Yahoo Yellow pages or the like. Their ads will usually state that they buy used books. Often times they'll also do a trade-credit tyoe deal.

try local flea markets.you,ll get more on average than on internet. bookstores will low ball you too.flea markets are your best shot.
