Everyone know you can extract some metals with carbon reduction from their oxide state. In this reaction, carbon would take the oxygen from the oxide and reduct the metal. But I don't understand why carbon can take the oxygen from the oxide. Why the bond in carbon dioxide is too strong? Also, can I use other elements to replace carbon? Like can I use silicon and form silicon oxide, or can I use some nitrogen compound with weak bond that can be break in low temperture and form nitrogen oxide?

i'm not muslim, but i want to see what it's like to wear a burka in public. i'm curious to see if people treat women in burkas differently or the same. would this be offensive to followers of islam? i certainly would not want to upset/insult anyone.

Anyone who knows alot about physics, please help me.
I understamd the idea of 'spin' but how can a particle have a spin of 1/2? I do not understand how this works. If you know, please tell me. Also, I know what Pauli's exclusion principle is, but how does it work and why does it happen?

Hey everyone. Im moving to Vegas from Cali to attend school and i need to find a job. I have previous experience working as a server. Im currently 20 years old so would that be a problem finding a job? I also heard that some places require a type or tam card or something to work inside of a casino? I was thinking of just getting a bunch of applications to different resturants to see if they needed servers, but would anyone reccomend a place? I wonder if anyone knows a place with good tips? :D I would greatly appreciate any information or advice. Thanks!

You can bring in the sectarian violence if you want, but the colonies also had their own differences, no? Yet, I would think this simple comparison would give reason why things should be left alone in the region, period. If someone wanted to take over your house or worse, your country...wouldn't you fight tooth and nail today to defend it? Has ANYONE in government tried to look at such an approach and sum up why its useless...sure, we gotta fight terrorism, but haven't more people been killed by cigarettes, cancer and AIDS? Where's the billions of dollars and nationalism over that stuff? Since 9-11, how many US citizen civilians have actually been killed by a terrorist act that didn't want to be in such a situation (Haliburton employees, missionaries)?

Sure, I hear everyone say this stuff about Bin Laden and how we wanna catch him...but on what grounds? Bad film editing? Are people in the United States so naive and mentally flimsy? We should be on the White House lawn!

It either exists or it doesn't, if the Catholic Church previous said it exists then and now say it doesn't, it must surely follow that they're original belief was wrong - where does that leave Papal Infalability.

I don't understand how the Church can teach for hundreds of years that non-baptised children are removed from heaven, and then this year "oh by the way ........ we don't believe in limbo anymore."
