If given a choice between those mentioned, I would go with the Kaspersky. Norton and McAfee are both bloated resource hogs. Bitdefender is a decent product and if free would actually be a top choice, but none are in the same league as Kaspersky, who is really on the cutting edge of computer security. Kaspersky gets updates as soon as they are available, sometimes as often as hourly. You can try Kaspersky out for 30 days free by the way.

I dun think any av will completely delete those virus, many lethal virus can't be deleted. It might permanent dmg your hardware, it happened to me, or it will eventually crash your window. Bitdefender is a new competitor in the market, back then the 2 top was nod32 and kaspersky, alot of antivirus specialist rate them as best, and if your an experience av user u would know they were best. I had couple lethal virus only nod32 and kaspersky picked up anything. Bitdefender dun seem to have any awards, nod32 has alot. Even now nod32 stil has the best acitve detection, as you can see from many or all top av comparison sites. Even though most ppl know their charts are and can be fake, but no mistake if every top comparison saids they're best or really top rated. As for on-demand scan goes, hard to tell really, bitdefender is new to the market, they need more awards to be compared to nod32. But kaspersky is better than bitdefender, I always thought kaspersky was best at detecting virus, but nod32 was best at active detection. Kaspersky has really nice awards and their scan methods is more thorough than nod32. I would recommend kaspersky if you going for bitdefender, much better with alot more exp. Bitdefender lags even more than kaspersky.

As a beta tester for antivirus/antispyware software, I am 100% against "suites", or "total security", all in one package.

Three or four antispyware have one hell of a time keeping up with spyware. An especially antivirus software where you can only use one or you will have conflict.

Do you really think that the all in one package is going to protect you!!
