I have a lot of painful things going on in my life right now and need to figure a way to push through it and make it through the holidays as much as possible.

so i believe we were created as i can't understand how else the universe came about. But at the same time i personally dont think any of the religions have got it right.just wondering if theres a name for people with this belief.

Well in shcool I remember learning that the color you see, like green from grass is actualy the reflection of light that is not absorbed by the grass,and that is why you see red after looking at a green dot for 5 min.

So does that mean that grass is actualy red?

my youngest son will be turning 2 yrs old on 1-1...I also have a 3 yr.old..what are some ideas that I can try...so my 3 yr old doesn't feel left out..my family said buy them equal amount of gifts...But it's not my 3 yr old B-day..we are taking my kids and a few other kids to a place called Discovery Zone...it has lots of fun things for kids to do..and having the cake etc at this place..but what about the gift idea? I feel stuck because at 3 does he really understand that it's not his b-day...ohhh pls help :)

I like both faiths I like Paganism because it is fun and the gods help me but it is very lonely and I have to practise behind my mothers back. I like catholicism because it has huge churches and I can go to mass every week so I feel like I am part of community but I feel like my spirit is hollow and christ as my saviour dosnt make sense as a phrophet sure but not as god. so how do I choose?

I've been participating in R & S for only a short time. In that time, I've seen quite a bit of rich discussion on a wide range of topics. That's great! And it's why I've decided to hang around.

I've also seen some discussion of things that some of us don't like about R & S. It is easy to point to something that we don't like. Or to tell someone else what they should do to fix it. I'd like to challenge the community to do something much more difficult. Tell us what you personally would like to do to make it better.

I'll start the discussion off this way:

When I respond to a question, I would like to take a moment before sending it to read what I have written and think about how the questioner and others will hear it.

Every Christmas Eve my family gets together and instead of having a large sit down meal, we all bring appetizers and just snack all night long. Some of the things people are already bringing are little smokies and meatballs, taco plate, pickle roll ups, spinach dip with hawaian bread, and a cream cheese shrimp plate. I am looking for an appetizer to bring but cant really think of something. We try to keep everythign simple so if you have any ideas of thigns that will go along with this let me know. Thanks!

Im 14 (i know im really young) well two years ago i met this guy and i liked him but never had the nerve to tell him so we remained friends but got closer and just recently decided we'd be boyfriend and girfriend but before we decided that he moved to new mexico so we are now far away. I had never managed to take pics or anything so i cant really make a scratpbook but i was thinking of just writing a personalized homemade letterctelling him all the feelings i have for him and how long i have had them with maybe a few poems and little things like rose petals because i have to send it through the mail, i dont really know whut else to do but im not sure if he will appreciate it. Why is it that when I add a song from Imeem onto my Facebook profile it does not play in full, it is just the chorus of the song... but it plays in full on the Imeem site?

I went to someone else's profile, and it played in full on theres for some reason.

I read over in the Astronomy QA that the pointee-heads figure half the human beings who've ever lived are alive today.

In another 20 years the numbers will be nearer 75 percent [assuming nothing causes a major rush to the exit signs].

So if we can hold out long enough doesn't this mean we can actually see a time when EVERYONE who ever lived is still alive?
