On a scale from 1 to ten, how much do you want to know about God? Prayer is communication with God. The less you talk to him, the less he will be able to talk with you. Let us use the bible for our reference. KJV. In Matthews writings,cha.7,
verse 7: Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find:
knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Also vs.8. If you read in Mk.12:30; And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with (all) heart, and with (all) thy soul, and with (all) thy mind, and with (all) thy strength: this is the first commandment. You cannot put a scale or a certain measurement on the importance of prayer and reading God's Word. The less you do, the less you will accomplish. The more you do for God, the more you will accomplish. The only limit in God is what you limit yourself
to do and be. 2Tim.2:15; Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (notice: rightly dividing the word of truth). Also 2Tim.4:5; But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.(notice: make full proof of thy ministry). I could not just give you these scriptures unless I spent time in prayer and reading(studying). It takes time and effort to be able to accomplish any of this. One more scripture: 2Pt. 1:20; Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (private means: one's own separate) (interpretation means: explanation or application). What this is saying is, we do not have our own thoughts or opinion on the meaning of God's word. That is one main reason why we have too many different so-called christian beliefs. Jesus Christ did not intend for it to be this way. Read Acts 2nd. chapter, esp. vs.38-44. (and had all things common). If you are serious at all live for God as though your soul depended on it, because it does.

Prayer is 10, it is one of the 4 qualities of the first Church listed in Acts 2:42.
Reading the Bible in the broader sense is required to build knowledge. People are not looked upon favorably if they have a lack of knowledge, Hosea 4:6 or Isaiah 5:13. In the light of those verses I would also give reading the Bible a 10 as well.

prayer is of paramount importance so I'll give it a 10/10
on the other hand reading a bible is also important but what is even more important is UNDERSTANDING what you're reading and how it relates to you life (I've got to confess i don't read the bible that regularly and yet claim to be a Christian) so from that view I'll give it a 6/10, but i'm not saying the bible isn't important because it very much is

We each have a different unique walk with God I believe prayer is a 10 because look at it this way if you had a relationship with someone and they barely talked to you the relationship would not be as strong to build a relationship it is vital to talk to God but it is also up to you and what you believe the first source I left might help

Reading the Bible I think is up to you me I believe it is also a 10 but to be honest I dont read it that often. it is our knowledge on helping us in hard times and helping others come to Christ. It is also our spiritual food

2Tim 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

the site for that is the second source

hope this helped

Both are extremely important. Prayer is talking to God. And reading of the Bible is a means of cleansing our mind, which is very important since we live in a polluted world.

it is "10". But many do not realize that prayer is just conversation with God or adoration. One can mop the floor with the intention of doing the absolute best job they have ever done merely for the glory to God and have it be a good prayer and even the name of Jesus is a most powerful prayer---If one lives their entire life in front of Jesus and for him their entire life is a prayer.

Ten for both. How can u ask and talk to God ( praying) without hearing His answer ( reading the Bible). That wuld be a one-side relationship.

Good Luck!!

How do expect to be pleasing to God if you do not know HOW to please Him? It is only through prayer, asking for understanding of what you read in the Bible, where He tells us what is pleasing and not to Him.

This is something you can only decide for yourself.

For an atheist, these things are not important. For a church pastor, they are very important. It depends on who you are. There is no right or wrong answer.
