I would like to go to medical school and be a doctor because I would like to help others, and after many doctors having a large impact on my life I would really like to, but I have a chronic pain disability which is often times diabilitating so I don't know if medical school is possible for me. I'm currently a sophomore in high school. Any suggestions of what I could do to make it through medical school or alternatives that would still give me the same satisfaction of helping people (I would like to work with people that have the same or similar conditions to me)? I have a neurlogical condition which causes my pain.

why members who are received in the Temple are ever after expected to wear white "garments" under their clothes? Not during surgery, childbirth or marital relations of course. However for the rest of their lives until death they are to be dressed in these garments. What is the point please, and is it for their "protection"? Thank you for your answer.

My dad and I are very close, and I'm moving into the dorms at the college I'm going to in August - they're only 30 minutes away from home. I can tell that he's not handling the idea of me moving out very well at all. I know that most parents aren't overjoyed over their children leaving home (or at least they don't show that joy), but my dad seems to be especially upset.

He's also an epileptic. He has grand mal seizures that are almost entirely under control, but he's had a few while taking his medication and he's not the best at remembering to take his medication. This is scary to me because he'll be alone when I leave for school... and he's been injured before while having a seizure alone.

How can I make the transition easier and safer for him? Living at home is not an option for me.

I am Lutheran. I am baptized. I was confirmed. I stopped going to church after I was confirmed b/c I am not sure my religion is right for me. I'm not sure what to believe in. How do I know what religion is right for me? How do I become in touch with God? How do I know what to believe? Do we all go to the same heaven?

This is my question. IF evoultion is true, how come humans have an inclination to help other humans from different races and nationalities, even giving their lives? Doesnt this contradict "Survival of the fittest" from which we evoulved?
(gah, spelling sucks today) I mean, even ants while helping their own, would kill an ant from another colony if the ant was in danger as oppossed to helping it. And I study evoultion-you cant evolve altruism (like I said, spelling sucks)

My dad went out to the casino about 8ish, it's now 3:30am and he's still not back. He's not answering his mobile phone and I'm getting really worried. He may have drank a lot, but he's usually home long before now. What should I do, I'm really worried.

I tend to eat a lot of Japanese squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, butternut squash, etc, thus taking in an excess amount of Vitamin A, sometimes up to eight times the recommended daily amount. I am a vegetarian, an aspiring vegan, and do not take supplements of any kind (so all the Vitamin A comes from natural food sources only), and eat plenty of other fruits and vegetables in addition to beans, legumes, grains, and fortified soy products. I'm just wondering if it's harmful in any way to consume too much Vitamin A from FOOD SOURCES only, and if so, how bad is it and what could be possible effects? Thank you!

I can understand people expecting God to perform a miracle, but I can't understand why they would expect a mere human to do so. A doctor is limited to what science knows, yet people think that a doctor or even science is holding out on a cure.

A prime example would be cancer and HIV, some people assume that both of these illnesses will be cured. Yet it is impossible.

If you are a doctor, how do you handle it when a patient expects from you more than what you are capable of doing?

I just started a new job a month ago, don't really talk with anyone cause I don't have much in common with the people I work with. Most of them are about 5-7 years younger then me. So, there is this one particular girl that for some reason doesn't like me. Makes a point to make fun of me with a manager and try and say things to the point that she doesn't like I can hear it when she knows I can...for example. I don't like any of the new people except susan and may. Or makes fun of my weight with the manager and says it right as I walk by and doesn't like I didn't hear? What is the best way to deal with a situation so I can be professional. Thanks!

I asked the bishop at my church if she (yes it's a she) could marry my fiance and I and she said I have to take 8 marriage counseling classes and the fee is $500 Is this the going rate? Believers, Is there a certain protocol like I mean If I belong to a Church does my Bishop have to marry me or can I get someone else to? $500 is alot of money considering a wedding is expensive enough. Am I wrong for getting someone else to marry me? I would like answers from people who have facts on this matter not those who will criticize the situation. Your thoughts?

I'm near the end of my first semester at a community college, and I want to transfer down to southern cali, to a different community college. Would this even be possible & would any of my credits transfer? (At least those that would normally transfer to another university.)

And would me failing one of my classes currently hurt my chances of being able to transfer? (I'm doing moderately well in my other ones, just not this particular one.)
