The ladybug is the same as the ladybird beetle. There are both male and female ladybugs.

A male lady bug is called a laddie-bug! Just kidding...it is the same as a ladybug, or a ladybird.

no they are not the same. lady bug , doesnt mean its a female bug its just it's name.why i dont know. Im surprised my 7 year old has'nt asked me that. there are male and female ladybugs and ladybirds.

I dunno, but I have heard the ones with spots are really boys....
My baby girls rescued a ladybug today, they really were wondering what to feed it to keep it alive...
Right now it is in a bug cage, more than likely hungry... :(
