Well yes even though they have some diffrent name they are the same type of insect.

The ladybug is the same as the ladybird beetle. There are both male and female ladybugs.

Yes, its the same thing.
A male lady bug is called a laddie-bug! Just kidding...it is the same as a ladybug, or a ladybird.

yes they are. some people call them ladybugs and other people call them ladybird beetles but they are the same insect.

They're the same thing. In Europe they're called ladybirds.

no they are not the same. lady bug , doesnt mean its a female bug its just it's name.why i dont know. Im surprised my 7 year old has'nt asked me that. there are male and female ladybugs and ladybirds.

I dunno, but I have heard the ones with spots are really boys....
My baby girls rescued a ladybug today, they really were wondering what to feed it to keep it alive...
Right now it is in a bug cage, more than likely hungry... :(
