Their brain is as large, or larger than the modern human (Cro Magnon) brain. They made tools, they had stylized rituals, they painted on cave walls, and recently they've been shown that they were every bit as capable of speech as modern humans.

They weren't animals, they are "Homo Neandertalis" -- i.e. a branch of humanity.

ok so in my previous question i asked if piercing the ear is ok or not.. many of you guys said yes

now i am wondering, if Allah says that harming our body is bad, then suicide is haram too, but then doesnt this mean that piercing an ear is harming the body because you can get cancer and infections because of it, then leading on to death which is kind of your fault because you harmed your own body and killed urself,.,,,
isnt this the same with smoking also

well anyways i was just wondering this because im a boy.. and i always wanted one of my ears peirced since i was a kid..

A young woman was preparing a ham dinner. After she cut off the end of the ham, she placed it in a pan for baking. Her friend asked her,"Why did you cut off the end of the ham"?

And she replied ,"I really don't know but my mother always did, so I thought you were supposed to."

Later when talking to her mother she asked her why she cut off the end of the ham before baking it, and her mother replied,"I really don't know, but that's the way my mom always did it."

A few weeks later while visiting her grandmother, the young woman asked, "Grandma, why is it that you cut off the end of a ham before you bake it?"

Her grandmother replied ,"Well dear, otherwise it would never fit in my baking pan."

I got a shoot of an indoor Hibiscus plant from a friend and have been growing it indoors. The plan is tall and only has one main stem and I'd like to know how I can get it to spread out and have more branches. My plant has no real branches, just leaves are growing out the sides of the main stem. Anybody have any ideas?

Holloween was originally the Hallowed Eve of All Saints Day. Remember that people used to consider it a new day as of sundown the day before. So, Halloween was the begining of All Saints Day. All Saints Day used to be a big celebration of all the Christians who have passed on and gone to heaven. A great day of thanking God for sending Jesus to save us from our sins.

Then it got distorted into costumes and candy. Then atheists started claiming it was really a pagan holiday that made it's way into Christianity thereby proving (to them) that Christianity was a false religion. Then some radical, uneducated Christians started jumping on the atheist bandwagon and tried to purge Halloween from Chrstianity. What began as a Godly celebration has become madness.

Does anyone still celebrate the original Christian Halloween?

I live in Chicago and had a Misdameanor warrant in Minnesota. This past week I traveled back there on a business trip to visit a Culinary Arts school I will be transffering to. I was pulled over and the officer asked did I know I had a warrant and I said yes and he asked did I have $300.00 on me, I did and he wrote me a ticket to appear in court November 06 2007 and he let me go. He also said if I can't appear in court call the number on the ticket. So my question is will I have to show up to court when I live out of state working and attending Culinary School because I have a very busy schedule also visiting other Culinary Schools I will be transffering to down the road. I can make the court date in late January but really don't know If the court will let me or can a representative do it in the court room and If I don't show up will another warrant be put out for my arrest again even though I just got rid of one. Thanks in advance.

My mother had bought this print for my grandparents at least 50 years ago. The woman was sitting at a black grand piano, the red dress she had on was very full, she was half sitting and half standing as a man in a black suit holding a violin in his right hand was lifting her in an embrace with is left arm. Like global warming. "Man made Global Warming is just a handfull of liberal alarmists." Handfull? Try most of the scientific community, if not the majority of the world. And calling it null and void because liberals supporet it has got to be the worst argument against it. It's one thing to have one's own oppinion. It's another to call names with the arrogance of "knowing" better than people who dedicate their lives to studying. Forget Al Gore.

Look at the facts:
1) We spew out green house gases by the megatons (1 megaton = 2 billion pounds).
2) The Earth is warming up (the 70s are an exception. For those that don't know this yet, the year is 2007)
3) Modern (again, 70s don't count) Mathematical and computer models show that greenhouse gasses do cause more warming (for example, Venus).
4) According to the Gaia theory, Carbon dioxide from trees should have a negligible effect on change in Earth's temperature assuming that ecosystems are in full equilibrium (no comets or loggers)
