Their brain is as large, or larger than the modern human (Cro Magnon) brain. They made tools, they had stylized rituals, they painted on cave walls, and recently they've been shown that they were every bit as capable of speech as modern humans.

They weren't animals, they are "Homo Neandertalis" -- i.e. a branch of humanity.

I think my cat has a soul. In fact, I'm certain of it. So why would I have any problem believing that Neanderthals had souls.

Well, I probably don't have the answer you're looking for... but I believe that animals and humans all have souls, so I would say yes. This may not be what some major religions would say. A clearer question might be whether they were really human or not, and even that is a very complicated philisophical question.

Hope I helped.

again, provide one scientific shred of evidence that implys the existence of a soul. theres mountains of evidence for theoretical particles, like higgs-boson, but there is nothing of a soul. nada
no 'soul'

im basing this on several thousand years of looking and finding NOTHING! im not saying i know the answer, far from it, im saying that we know there is nothing we can detect. the idea of a soul is unfounded, to imply ANYTHING exists is a blind-guess at best. If evolutionists tried to pull a stunt like this religious-folk would be all over it in a second, not to mention one's own scientific collegues would never let such absurdities abound.

ya guys ain't doin' ya-selves much in the way of favors by actin' like a bunch of mental paitents. Pick yourself up a book that 'isnt' a recommended christian reader and you might actually find yourself observing some of the real world around you.

angels, gods, devils, prophets, the easter bunny, and santa claus. they all have 1 thing in common can you guess what it is?

I find it amusing that you are mixing science and spirituality together, when we all know the two do not mix.

Scientifically, no creature has a soul, in the religious sense.

Spiritually, creationists will debate with you that there were such things as Cro Magnon. (As evidenced by Silly Rabbit's preposterous response.)
