If by "weeks" you mean "years," then true. It was Italian Salad Dressing. Wish Bone brand. I found out when wanted to make a salad. I get into these kicks where I'll be into salad for a week, then buy a whole new bottle of dressing. It only happens once every couple of years, and I buy a new bottle of dressing each time. I found 3 bottles; two expired in 2004 and they didn't look ok. I don't know if it was mold or what. One expired in 2005, but I left it in there because it looked ok.

False. I'm kind of anal when it comes to my refrigerator (and my cabinets for that matter).
I go through it every night before I do the dishes. If it's leftovers and more than 3 days old I toss it. If it's anything else I use it before expiration.

it wasn't expired, but I was making a cake once and when I cracked open an egg a chick embryo fell out...totally grossed out!!
