Consider only 250,000 Americans fought in the war, many of them may have died before having children, some not have children at all, and others whose descendents died out. Also how many people moved to America after the war. There are 300,000,000 citizens now, so what are the chances that those 300 million are direct descendents of those 250,000?

Personally I would guess somewhere around 10% or less are direct descendents, but indirectly I bet about 70% are related somehow to those rebels. My family began moving to America in 1610 three years after Jamestown, but my direct ancestor William came over shortly before the war and fought for Virginia.

Direct descendents, mind you. Not your great grandpa's brother's wife's ancestor, but your own ancestor. I found out my family tree last year. I'm the son of Rick, the son of Richard, son of Ray, son of Raymond, son of Dyonisius, son of Alfred, son of Barrett, son of William, fought for Virginia.

I was in ikea with my 2 year old daughter earlier today and she started having a tantrum by the till because I wouldn't buy her chocolates. The lady in the queue in front of me turned and said to her friend "What a spoilt brat" I told her to mind her own business and the reason my daughter was crying was because I didn't give into her demands not because she's spoilt. I'm normally not rude and I would never answer someone back (I haven't got the guts) did I do the right thing and defend myself ?

What do you think ?

A car goes around a curve on a road that is banked at an angle of 30.0°. Even though the road is slick, the car will stay on the road without any friction between its tires and the road when its speed is 22.0 m/s. What is the radius of the curve?

Decision to overlook these errors in Al Gore's BS documentary?

The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government's expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.

The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.

The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government's expert had to accept that it was "not possible" to attribute one-off events to global warming.

The film shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims that this was caused by global warming. The Government's expert had to accept that this was not the case.

When Skylab reentered the Earth's atmosphere on July 11, 1979, it broke into a myriad of pieces. One of the largest fragments was a 1680 kg lead-lined film vault, and it landed with a estimated speed of 120 m/s. What was the kinetic energy of this film vault when it landed?

I am currently divorced after about 4 months now my ex-wife now wants to start hanging out. I am really not sure what her intentions are, but i thnk she wants to still have somekind of relationship. Now I am seeing someone else now and although that relationship isn't that serious yet, I don't want to have any kind of relationship other than a friendship. I think she may have gotten this idea, because her best friend is divorced and her and her ex mess around and they are with other people as well. This isn't for me, even if I was single.

I don't mind having contact with her, here and there, but the idea of us going out for a drink is out of the question. I haven't told her that I am seeing someone and I thought that she was seeing someone, so maybe that's over and she wants to have some part in my life. The divorce hurt me financially and emotionally and I want to move on, but I don't want to hurt her feelng either. What would be the best approach?????

WASHINGTON – Mexico's former President Vicente Fox is making no secret of his desire to promote a "North American Union" to compete economically with Europe and the Far East.

Fox shocked many in the U.S. earlier in the week when he told CNN's Larry King that he and President Bush had agreed to work toward a common currency not only for North America but for Latin America as well.

This is just another example of how Bush is helping sell America's borders out.

When will this insanity end?

Do these morons even know where the U.S.- Mexico border is?

I don't want to see that and the U.S. Canada border erased AT ALL!

Once that God forbid happens, America will seize to exsist.

It's scary.

Let's all fight for one of the top indentities of America.

HER BORDERS!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

She's out of my leauge in looks and personality, but for some reason she cares for me. she's a friend but, she shows a lil bit of jealousy when I talk about other women, she does it playfully. Like an idiot one day I broke and told her how I felt about her, long story short, after she got her breath back, she told me she wasn't ready and she just got out of a relationship a couple of months ago. heart broken, I started treating her like one of the guy's and a friend but now she's starting to flirt show jealousy and interest like she did before I told her how I felt. It messes with my head, im trying to be strong but I wan't her. I can call her cute names like babe, honey, sweetheart.. etc. and she doesn't even mind and she's even said them back a couple of times, but I feel like im going crazy not knowing where to stand. Theres a lot of little deatails im leaving out but, From a 3rd person perspective please tell me im not wasting my time or chasing something thats not there.

I am constantly applying for jobs. After I have submitted my job applications, how often should I check with employers to make sure they don't overlook my application and choose someone else? I discovered this problem today where I had applied for a job back in August. I was constantly contacting the manager expressing great interest in the job position. All I kept hearing was they were having some sort of difficulties (whatever that is) in the hiring process and nothing was available at that time. I saw this job in a job ad and part of the ad says "no experience needed, we will train". So I'm thinking cool I can handle this and the pay wasn't that bad either. All the times I have been asking about this job position and expressing all my interest for this job I got the "traditional" we will call you response, which sucks by the way. I checked on that job again today and found out the job was given to someone else. This always happen to me everywhere else and I am a good worker too.

Hello

We have life and health insurance at my work. Life is free and we automatically receive it. Health is not free and optional to purchase. I did not purchase the health insurance. Not long from now I will be going on maternity leave and I was wondering if this will be covered by my life policy. Or does this fall under the health plan? Also is there a lenght of time you have to be with the company? I've worked here for 13 months now.
Hope someone can help. I didn't want to ask work because they might just say "no you will not be paid for your time off" and escepially if they think I don't know any better.
