Albuterol may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

Yes it can stop your heart. Albuterol is a fast acting inhaler medication and if you inhale too much it causes your heart to work a lot faster. It is kind of like taking in too much caffine. Too much caffine causes you to be jittery and that is because you heart is working at a much faster pace then it is used too. This is kind of what happenes when you take in too much Albuterol. Be careful

Yes. Overdosage of beta adrenergic inhalers can cause rapid heart rate and arrhythmias. These can sometimes be fatal. Properly used, albuterol is a valuable medicine for asthma. But if you require it more than the doctor has prescribed, contact him or her. There are several treatment options to relieve your wheezing.
Much more dangerous to the heart is the alpha-adrenergic inhaler containing epinephrine. Overuse has a much worse effect on the heart.
