A while back I think I saw this on an episode of Ripley's Believe it or not about sisters that would drop to their knees praying to the sky in a trance. And the strange thing was that they were immovable, there was video of grown men trying to move them but failed. Who were these sisters, where can I find more information about this?

This is inspired by Tera's question...

I see the anti-feminists on here frequently making two statements:

1) Feminism is destructive to society. (Here they will talk about divorce rates, children without fathers, feminization of men, affirmative action, etc.)

2) Most women are not feminists. (They LOVE to point this out, with surveys of women who claim that they are not feminists)

So...where is this power of feminism to destroy society coming from, if most women (and most men) are not feminist? This seems to me to be a contradiction.

BTW--I don't support affirmative action.

Also, I think there IS a national crisis of children, especially boys, growing up without fathers. (But I don't blame this on feminism).

I usually don't sleep more than four or five hours a night, it's frequently less than that, and I'm always tired, but not so much. The rare nights that I can sleep six hours or more, I wake up feeling more tired, and stay sleepy all day.

He broke up with me about 2 months ago. Said we faught too much and I was too jealous. (He was just as jealous)Anyways, we didn't talk to each other at all for about 2 weeks. Then he started calling to see how I was. He told me he wanted to be friends. I didn't want to lose him completely so I said yes. But everytime we talk he just tell me that the guy I'm talkng to is no good for me. Then I can't help but want to know info about his new girl. THen one night I called hime and told him I wanted to hook up. I know it was stupid but I thought it would be the last time for him to come back to me. I was soo sad afterwords..I know I had it coming. After that I told him I couldnt be friends with him anymore. Cuz it was too hard for me. Plus he would give me some mixed signals all the time. He would call me and want me to go over..saying he didnt want to do anything sexual, he just wanted me to stay over..and sounded like he was crying. And he would say he still loves me.I would ask him if he felt sad like that why couldnt we be together, and his reply is always cuz he needs to 'realize' things, and see where his heart takes him. I guess Either with this new girl or me. Sorry for rambling. My question i guess is, is how long did it take you to FINALLY get over your ex? I was with him for over a year...so I guess those of u that were together for over a year and got dumped??

I love acting so much but every time I audition for a show get really nervous. Practicing the material at home I can make it really good but once I get up there I mess it up! how do I keep my head when auditioning so I dont get nervous?

For a various reasons, I want to get back into military service. I was in the Army 3 years, yet this is not what I am thinking of if I re-enlist. I am thinking of going coast guard. Mostly financial and for reasons that the coast guard actually helps fellow Americans and is part of the law enforcement here in the states. My life feels empty if I am not helping my fellow person.

However for various reasons, I am hesitant to go back. For one, I was very unhappy in the Army (one of the reasons I left.) and a basic term in the Coast Guard is 4 years. I am hesitant to go into something that long just to find out I am not happy with it and not a good fit and be miserable again for that long.

IS there any way I can sign up for less then that amount of time? Can some one talk me into or out of this decision. I am sitting on the fence here.

I have a big girl cat that has been in the same room with a small boy cat for about 1 year…..I know not the best size match.....they are both NOT fixed and I think she is pregnant.... (I hope).....she has been mothering the boy cat and just tried to attack another fixed boy cat that lives on the other side of there door.....she has never done that....it looked like a woman mood swing......what do you think?

Is there a way to tell if she is pregnant with out taking her to the vet......?

I mean REALLY! Look at all the wonderful things they accomplish. They HAVE saved this country from blood sucking liberal blight! Hey, what happened to all the terrorist attacks we were supposed to have? Why have they approved the most environmental protection resolutions IN HISTORY.

I went to join a gym it a franchise meaning they have gyms all over the usa. They told me I was to big, and could not join because I would cause to much wear and tair on their machines. They said because of my weight I could not join. Is this legal? They all said I would be a distraction and would offend other customers. They told me if I were to loose 150 pounds, They would be more then happy to give me a membership.

I've had swollen lymph nodes in my groin area for over a week now, & in the past few days, they feel like they've gotten bigger & little more swollen. I had made an appt at an ob/gyn clinic for tomorrow (I need to get a routine exam anyway), but should I get checked at a regular Dr's office tomorrow as well? I'm getting a little worried because now I also feel discomfort around my neck, I may have a slight fever, & i seem to have other symptoms of CSD that are listed on online listings. I have indoor cats only & they have had fleas. They have also scratched me in recent months on my legs (it happened when they tred to climb in my lap when I'm wearing shorts). Also, could it be something else? Please help!

We put a contract on a house, got the inspection or appraisal, found out we needed to do some touch up painting, so we did. we are now waiting for the survey, my question is, after putting in 2 1/2 days of painting this house, can they come back and say we cant have the house. We have our approval from the mortage company, and just waiting for the survey, is there a chance some one could change there mind, and we do this painting for nothing.

So I im falling for my organic chem professor. Im 19 and hes 35. I think he is so hot and hes really smart. Everytime I see him i get all nervous and my heartbeat gets faster. I was at his office today and we were just both flirting all day. When he was talking to me he would hold my hand and just looks into my eyes. You dont find that too much anymore. Anyways, I cant stop thinking about him. Im about to join his research team. Does it matter if hes older than me? Should I go for it? I really really like this guy alot.
Additional Details:
Since the first day of class I noticed he made ALOT of eye contact with me. After the first time I went to his office he asks me If i will be visiting him after the class sessions.. AND NO hes not married or seeing anyone.
