So I im falling for my organic chem professor. Im 19 and hes 35. I think he is so hot and hes really smart. Everytime I see him i get all nervous and my heartbeat gets faster. I was at his office today and we were just both flirting all day. When he was talking to me he would hold my hand and just looks into my eyes. You dont find that too much anymore. Anyways, I cant stop thinking about him. Im about to join his research team. Does it matter if hes older than me? Should I go for it? I really really like this guy alot.
Additional Details:
Since the first day of class I noticed he made ALOT of eye contact with me. After the first time I went to his office he asks me If i will be visiting him after the class sessions.. AND NO hes not married or seeing anyone.

I've asked around if anyone knows if has done any of this with another girl. Theres this one professor that hangs out with him all the time. He doenst really have students come up to his office, if they do come they stay for a min or two. The professors offfice is right next to his. ( I know this professor longer than the guy im intrested in)

There are three possibilities at work1)you love the authority figure he represents2) you have a crush on him -an every day garden variety crush.3) you love him in spite of the age difference. Each of these scenarios could potentially get him fired, sent to jail, or debarred from teaching. So my suggestion is toA)have a talk about what is happening if you haven't alreadyB)stop seeing each other alone in his office.C)reiterate the age difference and that he is your teacher.D)that he runs the risk of serious jail time for statutory rape in some states, corrupting the morals of a minor and other related charges.Don't make your crush on him cost him everything if you care about him. The fact that he is single is unimportant.

Most colleges I have been to have serious rules about this. Remember he can lose everything, job, tenure and the respect of his fellow professors which means he may have a difficult time getting another job.
It happens sometimes in spite of all that but you do not need to be a student under this guy.

The person above is right. You're 19, he's 35 -- you'll end up falling for him more than the other way around.

He's attracted to you for sure, but it is HIGHLY unlikely that this will go any further than an affair. The guy is about DOUBLE your age. He prob doesn't consider you "marriage" material. Sorry.

It can only lead to real heartbreak on your part. My advice is to get out NOW before you become devastated.
