It is a very nice dress... very classy and very formal. I would not have had it for my wedding though... I would choose a "tea-length" dress for the bm- and go all out for yours! Also, something to consider - take all of your bridesmaids with you to try it on. I make that mistake - and one of my bridesmaids looked horrible in the dress - another was falling out of the top. I actually like the "variety" look. have them pick out dresses that coordinate - of course in the same material and color... would be cute. It's common and hot! and... what about white pearl earrings and bracelets for their jewelry and a single pearl necklace (like just one pearl dangling from clear fishing line type necklace. I think the david's term is "illusion" necklace. black and white is classy!!!

It's OK. The bow's a little funky.
Like I've said in other answers I don't like those gathered pickup skirts. I think they are sooo trendy right now that in a few years it's going to be the dated look for the 2010's. You know, like those headband veils from the 80's. They were all looking like hot stuff at the time but now it's a huge joke.
Ultimately I think you should run it by your bridesmaids. Sure it's your wedding but you want them to be comfortable and enjoy the day too and if you are picking out black dresses it should be easy to find something you can all agree on. It's also really important that you take their finances into consideration. They are there to support you but that doesn't mean they are suddenly spitting cash out their ears.

Black is classy, the dress not so much. There are so many really beautiful, classy, classic, comfortable (your girls will thank you) dresses to choose from, why dress your favorite friends up in floor length satin gathered and that big bow? Of course, if it's a style you and your girls like then that's truly all that matters...For my wedding, my bridesmaids all looked gorgeous and wore dresses they loved and could actually wear again -- we didn't shop at a bridal store, but at a boutique and because the dresses weren't specifically for weddings they were actually cheaper...
anyway, blessings hope its a beautiful event and blessed union.

This is a great dress. Personally though I have tried staying away from Davids Bridal. I don't know if it is just the area I live in or if it's everywhere, but them and Alfred Angelo seem to be hot hitters. I don't want something that half the city has had int heir wedding. (I didn't relize this until I started looking at albums from the photographers) The dress is great though if you love it go for it! otherwise look at some places no one goes.

Meh. The pickups are really going to make it look dated ... plus I never really cared for the look of them, personally.
And it looks a bit bulky for the girls to walk around in. And they're NEVER going to be able to wear it again (although most bridesmaids know that going in).
It's more important that your bridesmaids vote on this dress, not us. If they all like it, go for it. If not, find something else. Or tell them to pick out any long BM dress from David's Bridal in black.

It's a beautiful dress and I like black dresses, I don't know why people get so huffy about bridesmaids wearing black.. I think it's classy and elegant myself. My only concern about this dress is that it's really fancy.. make sure your bm dresses don't out shine your bride! Other than that awesome choice. =)

I like it for a bridesmaid dress, but for God's sake, the bride shouldn't lie to the bridesmaids by telling them that they could wear it again!

The black is fine, I just think it's not so great with that dress. The other colors look wonderful, but theres something about it in black that just throws me off.

Sorry, no. The pickup skirt is just not flattering; it's an awful trend. A dress with a nice flowing skirt would be nicer and more flattering to the women's silhouette.

Its beautiful, its classy in black, I say Yay. But, its very formal and poofy, so your dress must be even bigger and more detailed than this one! In fact, if it were in white it could be a brides dress. So you have to upstage it!
