the U.S., which would probably mean big business telling us what to think, gun murders everywhere, racism in our cities, too much idiotic religion, dumb and corrupt politicians, more pornography, etc. If a neighbouring country fears domination by the U.S., is it any wonder that an Arab country would fear U.S. ways?
Canadians can live with the changes that we get when we elect our left, middle or right-wing parties, even though they will make some changes we won't like, but we are deathly scared of the kind of changes that an American system would make, and we could probably be convinced to fight to prevent that.
So while the Talilban may be nasty, it probably seems more tolerable to the Arabs, including women, than the scary prospect of an American system that even scares Canadians!
