There should also be a separate section for atheists, Protestantantism, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and perhaps other religions. The present section could be retained ‘as is’ for those who would like to interact or debate with other groups. This suggestion is really a win-win solution to problem right now.
It have noted the fact that there are many times people want their questions to be answered by people from their own religious group. As it is right now, members can butt in and interfere.
There are 1.2 billion Roman Catholics out there excluding Orthodox Catholics, Anglicans, Episcopalians, etc. It makes good business sense for YA to do this because there is no interactive site, which can offer this kind of service right now.
To control people who might masquerade as Catholics, we can have an 'accreditation system' so that those who will answer questions have the training, experience and spirituality to answer questions well. In fact, it might be a good idea for Catholics to 'manage' the section. Other groups can do the same thing. This does not mean only Catholics can ask questions there. People from other religious groups and atheists can post questions there provided they do not answer questions.
If we want peace in the world, peace must begin with us and right here on Yahoo Answers, Religion and Spirituality Section!
