I used to be so skinny. All the time people would tell me I didn't know how lucky I was and that it would catch up with me someday. When I went on birth control, it did. It seems like my metabolism just stopped. Unfortunately, when I was super skinny, I never developed good diet and exercise habits, so it was hard to get into the habit once I wasn't skinny anymore. Now I'm not on birth control anymore, but it doesn't matter. I have to be so careful of what I eat. I am way more conscious now than I ever was before, but I'm still nowhere near where I need to be health-conscious wise. I stopped gaining weight and hit a plateau and I have so much problems motivating myself to get up and exercise. I still have a curvy figure, I don't appear to be overweight to a lot of people because I'm tall, but I see it. I miss my old self. I guess the moral of the story is that if you fall into the still-skinny-don't-exercise-or-eat-right genre, take heed, it will catch up with you and ...

if you go on birth control, go for ones without hormones.

I fell in to a situation where I was kind of similar to this but then I found out that regardless of what I did (and I wasn't even on the pill at the time) and I still gained weight. It turned out I had a hormone imbalance going on as a result of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
