There should also be a separate section for atheists, Protestantantism, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and perhaps other religions. The present section could be retained ‘as is’ for those who would like to interact or debate with other groups. This suggestion is really a win-win solution to problem right now.

It have noted the fact that there are many times people want their questions to be answered by people from their own religious group. As it is right now, members can butt in and interfere.

There are 1.2 billion Roman Catholics out there excluding Orthodox Catholics, Anglicans, Episcopalians, etc. It makes good business sense for YA to do this because there is no interactive site, which can offer this kind of service right now.

To control people who might masquerade as Catholics, we can have an 'accreditation system' so that those who will answer questions have the training, experience and spirituality to answer questions well. In fact, it might be a good idea for Catholics to 'manage' the section. Other groups can do the same thing. This does not mean only Catholics can ask questions there. People from other religious groups and atheists can post questions there provided they do not answer questions.

If we want peace in the world, peace must begin with us and right here on Yahoo Answers, Religion and Spirituality Section!

If you feel this will be good for the section could you suggest it to YA?
I already did. I just don't know if it has been posted.

Excellent suggestion. I had thoughts along similar lines. I'm glad you acted on it. Maybe if we had enough votes, Yahoo will assent to making different sections.

if we want peace in the world we should end religion entirely.
that or we should've been born into this world knowing the truth, which we weren't. so we should go with the first option.

and debating is more fun than just getting a straight answer. it gives you more opinions. i wish this was more like a message board so you could leave more messages, since people are constantly on this. or an instant messenger. that would be even better because most questions get responses instantly.

Well I'm all for the different sections with a whole General R&S section but I don't know about that rule about no one being able to answer questions if they are not accredited. The whole point is to get different view points but it would probably cut down arguments if they could be posted in special sections.

Anything would be better than the endless infighting here, this place is fast becoming a war zone where good manners and respect are down to almost zero.

there is no special system for recognising experts in other categories, why would you think that they would set up a system specifically for religious experts or catholic experts?
