Basically, import duty, V.A.T. and brokerage charges are levied on the TOTAL cost of the vehicle, including the shipping fees. This usually adds up to around 30%.

So if you buy the camper for £10,000 and shipping costs £2,000, you will pay an extra £3,600 just to get it into the country.

It will then need an S.V.A. in order to get a registration number - this will be around £750.

As mentioned above, unless it's an ultra-rare vehicle, it's really not worth bothering with...

You'll have to pay VAT when you bring it into the UK - that's a 17.5% hike in the price.

You'll have to register the car in the UK - more cost.

Shipping costs.

Doesn't look like a good deal unless it really is a bargain in the first place.
