First and foremost if you're here only to preach that God isn't real and that I'm wasting my time...fine, I won't let it bother me.

Second...I'm Mormon(well I will be on the 11th).

I, for reasons I do not wish to discuss in public, believe it is my right place to go on a mission. I know I have to wait a year(to get my melchizedek priesthood and my temple recommend and stuff like that)...

But if you've ever gone on a mission, or your brother or sister has, or a friend, do you have any advice for me? Like...should I study my scriptures a lot more(OBVIOUSLY), are there any books I should read(besides the scriptures) to get myself ready, should I start running on a tredmill to get my endurance built up...or the cycling machine?

Anything is welcome....thanks.

'm considering a Mathematics/Computer Science BS double major.
Im good at math, always have been.
My interests since i was young have been video games, electronics, computers, internet, always have an interest in new technology and stuff like that.
from what ive read, there seems to be jobs for someone with that type of education working with, computer software, game design, developing new technology,gadgets,etc.
also anyone that has done this, just wondering what type of things your doing, see if anything sparks my interest.

I never seem to have the motivation or energy on the weekend. During the work week, I feel more motivated because it's work, but during the weekend, I have really lost the sense of how to enjoy myself fully. I go places, but never feel like I totally enjoy myself. Most times people ask me what is wrong. I usually hang my head and feel less than satisified with life. There are times things need to get done around the house that I never start. Instead, I do nothing, even though this will obviously cause me inconvenience (or worse) in the future. I have suffered from depression in the past and have taken medication for it. However, my life situation is better, but there is no other explanation for my lethargy, lack of motivation, or being just unhappy with life. I am familiar with mood disorders and this is sounding more like dysthymia given the length of time that I have felt this way.

Thoughts?

After 26 races this season, Jeff Gordon had a 675 point lead on Clint Bowyer under "regular season" scoring. With the Chase format, you take a driver that has basically just survived this season and had no shot to catch the leader had this been in the days of Petty or Earnhardt, and you put him within 40 points. Now, since he has a great couple of races, something he was not able to do for 2/3 of the season, and he is within 9 points of the Championship? Would fans from 20 years ago been okay with saying Bowyer was the Championship Driver back in the days of old? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. At least if Stewart, Johnson, or Denny Hamlin won you could argue that they were right there all season long chasing the leader.... but Bowyer? I think I would say this is proof the Chase doesn't work if you are trying to find a system that is fair and really a season of 36 races. Any comments?

My "friends" are pot heads and have been at a community college for over 3 years now...They rarely call me to hang out and rarely ever invite me to go to places with them. I used to be close to them and hung out with them all the time but somehow we've drifted apart (partly because I moved for a year to school and just came back). They didn't even say happy birthday to me last week and didn't come to celebrate it...even after I told them that my other friend was throwing a party for me at his house. I've known them for about 5 years now, but they seem like a**holes now...what can I do?

If the Yankees had tied the Red Sox, they would have won the division, becasue the Yankees won the season series. The Rockies tied the Padres with the same record and lead the season series, but they have to play a one game playoff for the wild card. Why is that? Thanks for any help.
