Should I get new friends?

My "friends" are pot heads and have been at a community college for over 3 years now...They rarely call me to hang out and rarely ever invite me to go to places with them. I used to be close to them and hung out with them all the time but somehow we've drifted apart (partly because I moved for a year to school and just came back). They didn't even say happy birthday to me last week and didn't come to celebrate it...even after I told them that my other friend was throwing a party for me at his house. I've known them for about 5 years now, but they seem like a**holes now...what can I do?

I know how you feel and I'm learning that they don't deserve what they take for granted. Karma will get them, but go find friends that do care, and remember "for every friend lost is another friend gained" meaning that once you boot the bad friends, you'll have time to make good friends, or luck will send them your way.

Don't completely like dump them, if they find out they will get super mad...believe me I know.
You want to slowly just drift away from them like you are now, there is no reason for staying "friends" because it sounds like they don't treat you well. Also, if they have ditched you or anything they probably don't relize on what they are missing out on and don't care. And people who don't care about you shouldn't have the opportunity to be in your life.
Just keep slowly letting them drift off into their own world, don't call them as much, if you do call them and hang with your other friends more and more....
