You should not just do nothing, I hope. You should go about your business. Everyone has periods when they get down or "depressed". Those are the dormant periods when things are just percolating under the surface. Eventually you get these things ironed out and you move on. Clinical depression is made of a loss of interest and pleasure in things that you usually found pleasurable and it lasts a long time, like six months and longer. It means that you have low self-esteem and many other features. "Downer times" do not mean one is necessarily depressed, just having a temporary setback and fallow period, which is often necessary in between creative moments. Consider which of these best describes you, or if it is something else.

It would probably be a good idea to talk to one or both of your parents about it. If it keeps getting worse and goes on for at least a few weeks, then you should consider seeing a doctor. If it's something that goes on for only a few days and isn't suicidal, then that's fairly normal. All people get depressed. It's mostly a matter of whether there is a reason and how long it lasts.

Find a doctor, have them prescribe you some Welbutrin, or Lexapro or some Prozac. No worries, everyone is on this stuff, including me. It works mostly.

And no - I wouldn't wait it out again. That's a waste of time! Just make your way to the doctor's tomorrow, and tell him that you've been feeling down a lot lately. He'll be glad to help!!

You COULD wait out depression, but I highly doubt you think like me. If you rely more on gut instinct than cold, hard logic, I would definitely talk about it with a psychologist/your parents/Bob the Alien. If you are overwhelmed by emotion one day and are unable to suppress it with mental reasoning, you could get yourself in a heap of trouble. If you want the depression to go away (which I assume you do), I would highly recommend speaking with a trusted adult about it.
