I read this article on gen peter pace of the US military about how homosexuals should not be allowed in the military and this is his quoted statement:
"We need to be very precise then, about what I said wearing my stars and being very conscious of it," he added. "And that is, very simply, that we should respect those who want to serve the nation but not through the law of the land, condone activity that, in my upbringing, is counter to God's law."
What is wrong with the religious and how can they even in their subconscious mind think that ANY law of this country should be based on THEIR religious beliefs? Can anyone be any more narcissistic as to think that everyone should be mandated by law to live by THEIR beliefs?

I know American Soldiers are doing good helping Iraqis. But Ive seen a couple of videos where they have been killing innocent civilians, hurting/mocking innocent people including children, and alot more. From the Civil War, WW2, etc. times, soldiers were more serious about these situations. Why are modern day soldiers like this?

have to bash us in order to justify their own faith? I do. I think that they say things like he does "all Catholics are going to hell" "no Catholics are saved" yada yada, because they are so insecure in their own faith.

I own a 3 year old cocker spaniel. She is very sweet and affectionate. But as of recently she's been displaying a behavior i find myself quite curious about. My sister owns 3 ferrets, all to which my dog seems to get along with fine. She chases after them, pokes them with her nose. And the ferrets seem to play with her as well. My dog has NEVEr bitten them, only bark and display a playful attitude. But as of recently, im curious as to if she is bullying them or being protective, or what?

After my dog plays with the ferrets, she starts pawing at them, pulling them toward her and bringing them under her. When they walk away, she continues to paw at them. Why is she doing this? When she paws at them, sniffs them, it kind of looks like bullying, but when she pulls them under her, it looks otherwise.

Any idea of why she's doing this?

Well this is goin to be hard to explain but ill make as short and simple as i can. My mom and dad Seperated about a year+ ago, But they are not legally seperated. And My dad left but my mom stayed with me and my sister. And my dad started dating My moms bestfriend. Today my mom n her are not friends tho. Well my mom is still inlove with my dad and will take him back whenever! And my dad says he is over my mom and is moving on with his life. But heres the proublem the girl my dads with was my moms bestfriend... and my moms bestfriend stole my dad, and after that i didnt like her at all. But my mom got a guy that she is starting to like and im accepting him. And im kinda caught, becuase i want to spend time with my dad alot, becuase i only see him like once a month. But i just dont wanna be around the girl hes with, and i want to accept it but im afraid to accept it. im afraid my mom will get sad that im accepting her after what she did to my family. What should i do?

I'm so depressed.. and talk about it all the time to my friends and family and am driving them away. I feel lik emy life is hopeless, im in school right now and its really hard to concentrate because i am nervous all the time, i think the worst is going to happen. I'm afraid of being alone. I have no one to trust. All my friends are gone because I screw up all my relationships. I don't know what to do anymore... I have two exams tomorrow and cannot focus :(

so i work in retail in california, and every once in a while we'll get customers from oregon. since they are purchasing goods in OUR state, they have to pay our state and local taxes, and they claim that being a resident of oregon makes them exempt to all taxes anywhere they go.

do other states in the area (idaho, washington, etc.) honor the no-tax thing? why do some people from oregon think they won't have to pay california's tax even though they're shopping in california?

I just purchased a lower-end pair of Rollerblades- Astro ABT. I know that bearings can make a tremendous difference in skates. These came with what were designated only as SG5 bearings; even though I only plan on skating around my neighborhood, and am not super interested in speed at this point, would upgrading the bearings be recommended? I don't want to get frustrated by having to fight cheap, slow bearings if I can upgrade and get an better ride.

I know that when a neutron bombards a U235 nucleus, its fissions because it's unstable, but U238 doesn't. Or at least it takes more energy for it to fission. How? Shouldn't it be easier since it is bigger, and the nuclear force is weaker? Isn't it?

I live by myself and last month my water/sewage bill was $63.00, which is pretty average. I just got my bill for this month and it's $892.00! I almost fainted. I have city water. According to the bill, my usage went from 2,460 to 43,130. My toilet has been running for a month but I didn't think anything of it. I usually just wiggle the handle and it stops. Can a running toilet cause this much usage of water? It's the only thing I can think of that would cause the bill to be so high except that the company could have made a mistake reading the meter. I have no way to pay this bill. What should I do?

Hi readers! I'm a high school girl who needs some help! I really want a flat stomach, but I have extra skin or fat or something in like a big circle of flab! Any suggestions to get it off? Like a short work out I can do everyday when I wake up and go to bed or something. It's just, my stomach doesn't look very great in my tennis outfits and tight clothes--- please help!! Thank you!
