Consider that due to christianity, we have the university system, hospital systems; in fact, in many ways our American government was established by Christians (a fact largely glossed over by the mainstream media.)
Many orphanages and homeless shelters were founded by Christian organizations.

1) Christianity is one of two religions (the other is Islam) that is evangelical, and that is why there is a lot of wars in the world. Other religions, such as Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism are not evangelical and do not cause wars.
2) Most Christians do not realise that it is derived from Judaism, as is Islam, and that all three religions believe in the same God.
3) Christianity is based on a lot of lies and miss-truths. The translations of the old testament (the Jewish TORAH) is inaccurate in a number of areas. (a) The Torah says that the Messiah will be born of a YOUNG WOMAN, not as the Christians are taught, a virgin. (b) The Torah (in Genesis) says that the world was created in 7 eons (long periods of time), not in 7 days as the Christians are taught. These are most likely accidental mistranslations.
All the aspects of the New Testament were written between 60 and 150 years after the death of Jesus and when the Catholic priest who translated the "Gospels" and "Books" (around 1150-1350 AD... I am unsure of the exact period) he did so from material that had initially been handed down orally for decades before being transcribed into a number of languages... Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Assyrian, Latin etc. He then translated these into Latin and he did not use all the "Gospels" and "Books" that were available, eliminating a number including the "Gospel according to Judas". This was done to comply with the racist teaching of the Catholic Church against the Jews and to comply with the teachings they had been teaching for centuries. Here there are DELIBERATE mistranslations.
4) Christianity, like most religions, has a number of sects -- in fact more than any other religion. Catholic and its close offsprings, Eastern Orthodox and Coptics then the Lutheran, another offspring then Church of England which is a further sub-sect then there are sub-sects of the C of E -- such as Presbetarian, Protestant, Morman, Church of Latter Day Saints, Dutch Reform Church etc.

Christianity -- and lack of tolerance for other religious groups -- has been at the root of much of the misery in the world. Yes, Christian organizations have done good works to try to alleviate some of the suffering in the world, but they've seemingly done more to cause more suffering than anything else. And it doesn't take belief in a higher power to do good works.

Consider the witch trials and women burned at the stake in Europe. Consider the Spanish Inquisition. Consider the Crusades. Consider the Dark Ages. Do a little research on that, although they did happen over 500 years ago.

Issues in the world today..yikes I may get slaughtered for this..do you mean thinks that go against what Christians believe? If so here are a few I can think of..

Abortion
Secular Music
Gay marriage
Pre Marital Sex
Immoral tv shows and movies
Many Christians prefer abstinence being taught in schools opposed to safe sex. Me personally..my kids have been taught abstinence first and they know what safe sex is. I prefer to teach them myself
The Pledge of allegiance
Other religious holidays taught in schools but for example kwanza but not Christmas. Me personally I prefer to teach my children our faith at home and none should be in school. School is about academics I think.
So there are a few anyway for you to get started with.

go with what apple said, that is on the money.

In addition to that, keep in mind that these works come about as a result of a relationship with Christ, not a religion.

I hope you do well with your paper
