I live in midlands ireland. Our maternity ward is disgraceful. Three beds in a tiny room. Two of these beds are on same side of room and the wheelie cots are beside each other. The midwives are understaffed. They are going on strike because of this. We cater for our own county and all the surrounding ones too. The birth rate has shot up to an amazing level because of the foreign nationals moving to the country. The same midwives work the maternity ward and labour ward. If there are a few women in labour, no midwives or nurses to be there for women who have already given birth. Practically no after birth care. Never mind help with breastfeeding. I had a visit from my health visitor once and that was it. I am now on my second pregnancy and wish I had the 2000 euro, about £1700 to go private. Im dreading it. We dont get a first scan til 20 weeks or after. No hospital app before then even. How is your pregnancy care and hospital? Ireland is not the 3rd world, it shouldnt be so bad.

scientific Study (Very interesting)

A recent scientific study found that women find different male faces attractive depending on where they are in their menstrual cycle.

For example, when a woman is ovulating she will prefer a man with rugged, masculine features.

And when she is menstruating, she prefers a man doused in petrol, set on fire, with scissors stuck in his eye, and a cricket stump up his a*se.

Would you support a complete boycott of anything imported that can be made here? Bring the jobs and money back home? Would you boycott companies that outsource customer service, manufacturing, or even parts sourcing out of the country?
Why or why not?

My husband (British) and I (American) are considering a move to Wales, my husband's homeland. He's lived in the US (Michigan) for almost 10 years, but wants to go back to the UK. I have no idea what an international move consists of, let alone the quality of life compared to the US. Has anyone done this, have any advice for me?

I recently moved. My electric bill in this house is sky high. I need to discuss this with the landlord. But I want to be more prepared. What all could be wrong w/a house, to cause an electric bill to raise very high? (I'm aware that if we use more water, leave more lights on etc, that will do it. I'm just looking for things that could be wrong w/a house to cause it). There are some gaps in the doors that lead outside, so that's one thing. What are some other things I should ask him to have checked? Thanks!

I'm wanting to get an idea on what to order on my 21st. I've tasted both liquors before and liked them both. So far I've come up with a Tequila Sunrise or a Blonde Russian (I don't want any frozen/fruity drinks-they taste better virgin!)

I'm just wondering if anybody knows of anything, cause I don't want to make the bartender mad be ordering something 'special order'.

Thanks to all who answer!

consider the words of Marshall McLuhan: "only small secrets need to be protected, the big ones are protected by public incredulity"? Are those who must believe the government conspiracy version of 911 overcome by irrational incredulity that blinds them to another possible truth?

This oddball now moving out is in his late 40's and he had various female bar troll friends who knew all about me as he spoke about me to them but he wouldn't introduce them to me. They ended up being ugly bar trolls with drug and Dui issues too. He seemed really annoyed that he couldn't interest me and I was just his neighbor. He even went so far as to have his rich parents come to where I work at a nursing home to recover from a hospital stay where they helped themselves to asking about me with my coworkers. I had quit talking to the misfit. When were having a conversation he often told me stories I discovered were lies later and I told him I did not want my business discussed with the sugar mama's who bailed him out of jail that he met in the bar. He is nearly moved out now but I would like to know, from men in particular but anyone with insight what in the world did this "neighbor" want from me. He acted like I was such a frustration to him because I didn't have his problems.

del sol trouble « » 10:13 AM 9/25/2007 Reply Edit

i have a 93 del sol with a d16z6

one day i was driving my car to the bank aprox 1 mile away and half way there my car wouldnt let the engine rev past 4000rpm the car was just acking like it couldnt go and had no power. so i baby it to the bank. once i come out of the bank the car wont start

after getting it towed and checking what check engine light code my car is giving me it ends up being code 21 which is VTEC spool solenoid valve( witch the car has always shown a CEL but never seemed to have problem untill now)

so i order a VTEC solenoid and replace that the CEL is gone and the car starts most of the timeand kind of doesnt run as smooth as normal but when i dive it for a few blocks the car just either stops or putters out

so i reset the ecu yesterday and changed the oil just because it needed it

and now the car starts everytime i try no problems and runs smoother

but i have driven it a few times just to see if everything is ok i have driven it a good 5 miles away and then back home it seemed ok but i didnt really take the car over 5500 rpms although the car didnt seem like it went into VTEC

today i drive it again i kind of get on it a lil and the first time i try to take it super close to the revlimiter the car shuts of slowly. it wont restart of course and i had to push the car home from a few blocks

im starting to get fed up and dont know what to do

Why is a child-like private area acceptable? Where did this come from in our culture? Do we dislike women? Find privates threatening, think they are dirty, etc?? Does this hair have a purpose?

A father asked his 10 year-old son if he knew about the birds and the bees.

'I don't want to know,' the child said, bursting into tears. 'Promise me you won't tell me.'

Confused, the father asked what was wrong.

The boy sobbed, 'When I was six, I got the 'There's no Easter Bunny' speech.

At seven, I got the 'There's no Tooth Fairy' speech. When I was eight, you hit me with

the 'There's no Santa' speech. If you're going to tell me that grown-ups don't really

my 4 year old has started to call me and my husband by our first names. I do feel a bit taken a back about it since it is not common practice for children to refer to their parents like that but don't mind it as well.
Do you think there will be negative consequences in the future if I let her call me Jennifer instead of Mom?
