This oddball now moving out is in his late 40's and he had various female bar troll friends who knew all about me as he spoke about me to them but he wouldn't introduce them to me. They ended up being ugly bar trolls with drug and Dui issues too. He seemed really annoyed that he couldn't interest me and I was just his neighbor. He even went so far as to have his rich parents come to where I work at a nursing home to recover from a hospital stay where they helped themselves to asking about me with my coworkers. I had quit talking to the misfit. When were having a conversation he often told me stories I discovered were lies later and I told him I did not want my business discussed with the sugar mama's who bailed him out of jail that he met in the bar. He is nearly moved out now but I would like to know, from men in particular but anyone with insight what in the world did this "neighbor" want from me. He acted like I was such a frustration to him because I didn't have his problems.

Maybe he saw a way out of his own troubles with you. However, he knew he had no chance with you. So it was just a dream of "What if". He probably had enough sense (or you) not to try to get involved and mess up your life. Kind of like when someone is drowning and you try to help, but you end up drowning both of you.

I am assuming that you kind of liked him in a way. Maybe you thought about helping him get his life strightened out. Otherwise, you would have not posted and since you work at a nursing home....put 1 and 1 to make 2.

In any case, he is probably set in his ways and no help from you would be good enough. Just wish him luck and farewell.

The guy is a bum. He wanted whatever he could get. He was probably interested because you aren't the type he normally deals with.
Put it out of your mind, he's leaving, that's all that matters. Go make friends with the new neighbors. Move on.

It is a waste of time to ponder the human mind and spirit.

No one truly knows the workings of the human mind.

Even if you were to figure out a human mind even your own it would change.

Try to find some other focus for your life.

He obviously wasn't very mentally stable. There's no telling what he wanted from you, but none of it was good. Why did you even talk to him? He's moving out now! Forget him and move on with your life, and enjoy the lack of creepy stalker.
