I just got a Sony STR-DG710 AV Receiver. I also have a plasma TV with a DVI input.

---THE CONFIGURATION---

I have a DVD player and a HD Cable Box.

The DVD player is connected to the receiver with COMPONENT cables and an OPTICAL audio cable.

The HD cable box is connected to the receiver with an HDMI cable.

The receiver is connected to the with a HDMI to DVI-D cable. This cable is connected to the HDMI Out connector on the receiver. This is the only connection to the TV.

---HERES THE PROBLEM---

When I set the receiver to the input for the cable box, I get video but there is NO SOUND coming though the speakers.

As an experiment, I tried connecting an optical cable to the HD box, and re-assigning it to the same input. There was still no sound.

HOWEVER, when I changed the optical assignment to a different input, then switched the receiver to that input, the sound worked fine (but obviously there was no video).

ALSO the DVD player input has sound but NO video.

Any ideas?

Okay during a game of 20 questions/I spy, I chose the furnace...the person I was playing against asked me if you could put things inside it, and I said yes you can...She accused me of cheating, but I said techically you can put things in it (i know I put crayons inside the furnace when I was a kid and you put a filter in it) but she said she was implying that its purpose was to put things inside it...who is right?

To make a long story short, the trans cooler (inside of the radiator) busted and had to replace radiator. There was pink0 pepto looking fluid coming from the radiator. Took it to the dealer to have it looked at. The dealer claims that they replaced a transmission solenoid and resealed the transmission pan. The dealer stuff was done first, brought it home and replaced the radiator. Started it up, took it for a drive. The transmission seems like it's slipping, floored it and it barely moved. This morning it will not go into drive but will go into reverse. The trans dipstick still has the pink pepto stuff on it, but there is none coming from the radiator, so I believe we fixed this. Does the transmission just need to be flushed and could the remaining pepto stuff from the trans cooler break be causing it to slip? I'm looking at the cheapest way to repair this so I'm hoping that the trans just needs to be flushed. Any advice?

I'm currently dating this guy who I feel doesn't even have the feelings for me anymore!! I practicly go to bed every night crying!! the train went into a tunnel and all the people heard a loud smooch as if someone kissed someone and then a loud slap(It was pitch black), the train came out of the tunnel and George Bush was holding his face as if he had just been slapped,
Hillary imediatly thought that George leaned into kiss her but missed and got Saddam, and then he was slapped

I have a pioneer premier head unit with 2 kicker comp 10's and a 500 watt alphasonic amp. I have had this system for over 6 months and has work fine until the other day my subs started making this rumbling sound. its not loud. If i play my music it drowns it out. The only time when you can really hear it is between tracks and when i turn the volume down all the way. And also there is this light static sound coming from my tweeters too that just started at the same time. What could cause this?? How can i fix it??
