To make a long story short, the trans cooler (inside of the radiator) busted and had to replace radiator. There was pink0 pepto looking fluid coming from the radiator. Took it to the dealer to have it looked at. The dealer claims that they replaced a transmission solenoid and resealed the transmission pan. The dealer stuff was done first, brought it home and replaced the radiator. Started it up, took it for a drive. The transmission seems like it's slipping, floored it and it barely moved. This morning it will not go into drive but will go into reverse. The trans dipstick still has the pink pepto stuff on it, but there is none coming from the radiator, so I believe we fixed this. Does the transmission just need to be flushed and could the remaining pepto stuff from the trans cooler break be causing it to slip? I'm looking at the cheapest way to repair this so I'm hoping that the trans just needs to be flushed. Any advice?

the pink stuff is the water mixed with trans fluid. this absolutely has to go away before the car is driven. it could take 3 or 4 complete professional flushes. the bad news--the clutch discs cannot stand up to that much water and the material will come off if you drive it with water in it, especially driving it hard enough to make it slip. what am i saying? i'm afraid you might need a rebuild now.

The pink stuff is from coolant leaking from the radiator into the transmission. A flush might fix it. The dealer was extremely negligent by leaving the water contamination in there.

Yes, I would start with flushing the transmission and replacing the filter. The odds are though that you will need to rebuild the transmission. Once water gets in there, you are usually done.

It can be serious if the transmission slips very much. Check the transmission fluid to be sure is full. If that is not the problem, I suggest taking it back to the shop that did the work. You should have some type of warranty on it.

The transmission and torque converter will require a complete flush plus you will need a new filter and fluid.Do not drive it anymore have it towed into a good shop.If you continue to drive it run it you will only add to the damage.
