in some countries they run the ambulance service, as in a converted vehicle to transport injured or sick people to hospital in the best maintained environment with trained staff to look after the patient. they give advice on health mater's . give first aid training that most countries recognise. They are one of the major aid organisations in the World that bring doctors to where they are needed at risk to the organisation and the Doctors. Most civilised countries recognise this political independent organisation. which was founded many years ago in a neutral country Switzerland for countries at war that needed medical aid and food and clothing relief, A wonderful organisation that gets nothing but criticised by some people.

Red Cross is an NGO based in Switzerland but with "branches" (committees) all over the world.
The Nigerian RC is headquartered in Lagos.
Are you being scammed?
If you want to donate to the Red Cross, donate to the committee or branch in your own country.
