How to Make Muslims fit in western society?

Question

To clarify to some answerers:
Obviously the question implies that I m talking about Muslims in Western Societies, NOT in their countries and especially immigrants, which most of them are immigrants or visitors or descendants of late immigrants. I assume they have to fit in the society for the harmony of people, the question how to approach this, what methods or what is best, or if it cannot. Some answerers gave informative questions please keep posting. thank you

Why do they have to fit western, they can stay home. They fit fine there. Same as we would (not) fit over in their country.

I don't believe it's possible. And I'd add that they can't truly "fit" in any non-muslim Eastern Culture either. You have to understand that "islam" teaches that the World is divided into just two Cultures. Islam and War.

Any society that does not live under Sharia is "War" and they can't be happy there and shouldn't really attempt to "fit in" in any meaningful way.

Although I've studied the Koran since, I learned about Islam, in practice, when I lived in a NON-WESTERN Nation, Thailand. The muslims there, just like those in the West, did not "fit in" with the rest. Many of the things Euro Nations are dealing with now, the Thais have had to deal with for centuries.

The muslim minority carrying out Sharia Law punishments and generally ignoring the Secular Laws etc...

Why should the western world "fit" with the Muslims? The western world has already given enough hand outs, compassion, privileges and understanding to Muslims.
Many westerners oppose the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many westerners help to send aid to war-torn African countries whom Western countries did not start the war in, send aid to impoverished muslim countries like Indonesia who take their money then turn around and backbite western culture and people (I thought back biting was wrong in Islam? Isn't it a bit hypocritical to be on your high horse judging people.). Many westerners just want simple equality and by demanding stupid things like how British muslims have demanded - no pig toys/images in office places because it 'offends their sensibilities (ok, then in the same way they praying 5 times a day and saying the word 'Allah' can offend me too, right. But they won't give me concessions based on that, would they?), demanding friday be a public holiday like sunday because its their holy friday prayers, demanding stupid things like ALL cafes MUST serve halal food or its discrimination (they make up 2% of people in Britain. Why should ALL the pork be taken out of cafes and restaurants and shops just because 2% of people can't eat it?!) - Muslims show that they don't want EQUALITY, they want preferential treatment and THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

Why should Muslims immigrate to a western country because you can't live in your oppressive, corrupted, non-functioning ones, take privileges, rights and enjoy western technology (many of which are NOT based on arab technology so don't use all that rubbish of Arab civilizations in the past. Today is 2008. Not the "past".) and then turn around and criticise, and demand that western culture adapt to YOUR demands and needs?
Don't ask what your country can do for you. Ask what YOU can do for your country! Don't be leeches and back biters. Be a true citizen.
If a westerner goes to your islamic land to live, they are dhimmis. But when you come to a western country, you are not treated like dhimmis at all! So, since you can't appreciate that fact, you should just take it that you are a dhimmi living in a western land.

You can't make someone "fit", they have to want to join that society. IF A Muslim has gone to a country with a Western Culture, he already has made a commitment to want to fit at some level. The more he Westernizes, financially the better his life probably becomes. We pass Muslims everyday on the street, and they look and act no different than anybody else, it's a choice they have made.

We must all learn that we cannot go into someone else's culture and demand changes so we can live our way. Because of this thinking in a global society, God tells us that nation will rise against nation. Which means ethnic group against ethnic group.

If Muslims cannot adapt to western society, they will never fit in. You don't go to a foreign country and demand that all of your religious holidays be honored. Every country has a majority and the minority ends up living as the majority wants.

Global economy is a WILD DONKEY.

Western Culture is very tolerant but almost too much so, sometime this can make them release there anger in bad ways, the most important thing is probably to find a way to combine these two cultures in both the west and the east to make a mutual almost unbreakble bond:)

The wonderful thing about western society is that it is comprised of all types of cultures. There is nothing for muslims to "fit" into. They are already part of the mosaic of our society.

there is no reason to *make* them fit in any society. If we are really are a free society, then we must believe that everyone is free to make their own decisions, even if they decide to live in a society different from ours.

Can a good Muslim be a good American?


Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon God of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran)

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and _expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very mindful of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish....it's still the truth


I may not agree with him 100%, but I agree with his general pov. Because of what a Muslim believes, he can't integrate into our society...
