when a solid is heated the mollecules expand and move apart in each stage, therefor when you freeze water, it should shrink as the mollecules get closer together to become a solid. anyone know why it expands instead?

I would like to go Veg and I have been reading ALOT of articles......my question is this. When we are talking about protein, Iron, Vit B12 and "they" are saying.....beans, lentils, nuts, bakes potatos, dried fruit, collard greens, brocolli....as a more natural substitutes....where can I get information on HOW MUCH of (say broccolli) to eat to get a daily reccommended intake. What is daily intake of protein? iron? Vit B12? and how much spinach would someone have to consume to give them the reccommended daily intake of iron? Thanks so much in advance for your help!!

I did. I'm actually a good swimmer. One summer while in Lake Tahoe I swam 150 yards off the beach to a large rock knowing I could make it. I made it with no problem, but what I had not anticipated was the heavy accumulation of slippery green moss surrounding the entire base of the large rock. I was totally exhausted by then, and I could not find anywhere on this rock to place my hands to climb without slipping back into the water. I slipped over and over which made me even more tired. I really for a split second thought I was going to die. I was so tired that I just went into survival mode. It hit to me to wade in the water "on my back" for up to 45 seconds to catch my breath and regain strength in my arms again, so that I could find a place on the rock that was not AS slippery and climb up. It worked after 5 consecutive tries. What's worse is that no one new I was struggling to climb this rock since they could not see me from shore. And it was my birthday that day. Life is precious!

I have an abcessed tooth my 2nd one went to the dentist and he gave me some antibiotics it is one of my front teeth. But my jaw is so sore and throbbing. Called them and they said that the antibiotics need more time. Should I go back to the dentist or wait until root canal next week.

Okay, note smart in quotation marks. I'm talking about book smarts and grades.
There was a study done a while ago saying kids at "elite" schools such as MIT/Harvard/Wellesley/Princeton date a LOT less than other 18-24 yr olds who aren't in college or go to less known schools. And a good portion of them (40-60%) are still virgins by the time they graduate from school (not that its anything to be ashamed of, but it is significantly higher than the national avg)
I've kinda noticed the same thing at my school...it isn't in the US, but everyone here came from the top of their respective high schools...and thus over 80-90% of people i know are single, including me. Everyone just seems...pickier...including me.
Seems like you can never have everything. Sure, school's important, but being "lonely" isn't all that fun either.

Do you know any depression websites? My mother is leaving, my dad just lost one of his jobs (so now all we have is 28,000 dollars a year), and we can't afford the rent, so we are moving into a cheaper place. To knock it all off, our car isn't working that well lately (it is old). Also, I'm not that popular at school, and I get teased a lot. We barely have enough money to pay for everything, and pretty much can never afford other stuff (clothing). This computer is our most prized possession, and even this is old (8 years). Thanks.

Let me start off by saying that I'm not an Atheist. I happen to believe that there is or was a greater force which created life as we know it but he is not active in our lives today; I don't think he looked like Kenny G either.

I live in Houston, Texas and hang out with plenty of Christians throughout my week. I'm amazed at how many of them have sex, drink and judge other people just in a given week. Then, they goto church on Sunday's and repent so they can feel like they have some sort of moral authority over their peers who may not believe in the same things they do. Then there are others who don't even goto church. Now I understand that going to church isn't a requirement, or is it? I'm not really sure. Anyway, if the person was so passionate about God and living a moral life, they would be in church on Sunday.

If it appears that I am lumping all Christians into this category, I apologize. It is not my intent.

I can not make a firm decision and stick to it for next steps for myself and my daughter. She is 15 and up until now her Dad had sole physical and legal custody of her. He has now moved due to job reasons to another state.

One day, I feel like I should keep her with me and move into my own place.

Then, the next day, I feel like I should get back together with my ex-husband because she will have good family life like her friends, etc.

I feel sad when I see my child's face and see her crying to her grandmother about how she feels that she is a burden and both of her parents don't want her.

Then, I wonder if I can function with my ex-husband again. He was controlling and verbally abusive.

I wish life had some easy answers. I don't want to ruin her life.

My ex-husband keeps saying that I should be working on the move/ transition to show that I am committed to him and want to be with him with all of my heart.

I am stuck and can not move in either direction.

Ok! i bought my car off a used car lot! Its a 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic! I got it with no warranty from that lot but is it still possible to have came with a warranty from the manufacturer? My car broke down last week! It has low mileage and is still a rather new car! Think its emissions or something else! The fact is my newer model car doesnt work,start, or run! Of course! I cant afford a new engine due to no car to make it to work! Its crazy how 1 unfortunate situation can affect another! No car,no work! No work,cant make car payment! Dang! Real crazy like! But its fact! What can i do? Does anyone out there have a cheap car or one i can take over payments to get out of this jam? What can i do? And i need an answer to my initial question! What would you do? No money saved for down payment until i work again! What would u do?
