I did. I'm actually a good swimmer. One summer while in Lake Tahoe I swam 150 yards off the beach to a large rock knowing I could make it. I made it with no problem, but what I had not anticipated was the heavy accumulation of slippery green moss surrounding the entire base of the large rock. I was totally exhausted by then, and I could not find anywhere on this rock to place my hands to climb without slipping back into the water. I slipped over and over which made me even more tired. I really for a split second thought I was going to die. I was so tired that I just went into survival mode. It hit to me to wade in the water "on my back" for up to 45 seconds to catch my breath and regain strength in my arms again, so that I could find a place on the rock that was not AS slippery and climb up. It worked after 5 consecutive tries. What's worse is that no one new I was struggling to climb this rock since they could not see me from shore. And it was my birthday that day. Life is precious!

I just laid there resting on that rock, because I knew I had to swim back. Whew. Quite the birthday. :)

Glad you're okay. I jumped into a 9 ft. deep pool with my 3 year old son and didn't know it was that deep and I can't swim!! Other people in the pool saw me struggling to hold my son's head above water over my head and yelling "help" and came to our aid....whew!!!

Yes. I was swimming in the ocean and got caught in an under-current. I am not a strong swimmer. There was a lifeguard on duty in a row boat who saw me, but did not help. I was starting to swallow a bit of water and about to panic when I was pulled to shore by the stereo-typical 98 pound weakling. I was grateful.

when i was in swimming lessons at age 4, they made us jump off of the diving board and i was really freaked out, so i just kept on getting in the back of the line until they noticed i hadn't gone yet. they made me jump, and one of the lifeguards was in the water and she moved up for me, but i was so scared that i was going to die and i wanted her to catch me, so i jumped right on her. well, she went under and i went under and i thought i was dying. i refused to go back after that and finally got around to learning how to swim when i was twenty years old.

Yeah, i replaced into 4 years old, and that i replaced into in swimming instructions. and that i keep in mind that it replaced into my first or 2nd type, and the instructor informed us to swim from one area to the different. i replaced into basically 4 and basically in my 2nd lesson, so i could no longer swim in any respect. yet i replaced into consistently desirous to delight, so i attempted. of path, i replaced into interior the deep end of the pool, and as quickly as I pushed off the wall, I sank like a rock. the instructor replaced into an fool, and wasn't watching us, so she did no longer see me. I kinda remember the sensation of it. I remember merely sitting there on the backside, because of the fact I had easily no concept what to do (i hadn't mastered the whole "kicking element" yet). So I merely kinda sat there, yet i began out determining of air, and that's while i began out panicking. i replaced into attempting to scream for help, yet all i need to be replaced into lungs crammed with water. My mom replaced into there, and pronounced she replaced into yelling on the instructor, who finally (after a pair of minute) got here to me and pulled me out. i did no longer pass into the water returned till i replaced into 8, and that i haven't stopped swimming because :) And confident, that instructor DID get fired
