We are expecting our third child, and have decided on the name Gwendalyn. The a is important to us. However, in the baby name book there are MANY variations of the spelling of this name. I think we are going to spell it the way I typed it above, but do you think it would be better as one of the other versions, such as Gwendalin, Gwendalen, etc? I am going to ultimately decide, just looking for other opinions. Odd spellings annoy me, but with this being such an uncommon name there really is no "right" way to spell it.

Our other children are Miranda (aka Mandy) and Randal (aka Randy-the rhyming nicknames were not intentional). We have affectionately nicknamed our daughter Gwendy.

Future names on our list include Candace Kathryn and Malinda Darlene for a girl, and Russel for a boy.

Thank you for your time:D

The theory is based on the logic that for every man who is allowed to have several wives (or a harem), several men wind up with no wives, ever. Couple that with a belief that if you die violently, your reward is a harem of virgins of your own, and voila, you have a suicide bomber! Or if you become a powerful man by leading others to their deaths as suicide bombers, you get to have your harem here on earth.

Makes sense to me. We all get cranky if we're denied sex, don't we?

Certain sects of Islam and Hindus spin around and around, to create a kind of ecstasy. The book Bringers of the Dawn says one can do more good than writing 50 self-help books. If they would just spin around in a clockwise direction 33 times now and then. It draws Heaven down to Earth!

I am gonna get braces (top and bottom) in just over a week and realised hey, perhaps I won't be able to play my cornet anymore. Is it still possible to play a cornet (and trumpet) with top and bottom fixed braces? Is it just a case of take a few weeks off and then get used to it or is it just impossible? I kind fo want to know as I plan to get an A-Level in music on my cornet (2 year course) and if I need braces for two years then I'm pretty much stuffed.

Thanks

A couple had been trying for children for many years without any luck. One day their parish preist told them that he was going to Rome for five years but that while he was there he would pray everyday for them and keep a lighted candle in St.Peter's.
So a few years went by and eventually the priest returned home. He went round to see the couple and as he walked up the garden path, he spotted a pair of twins playing on a swing. As the door of the house opened, he saw the poor harassed woman, heavily pregnant, with two small babies in her arms.

"Why Father!" she exclaimed, "we didn't know you'd returned."

"Yes, a week ago," he replied, "and I thought I'd come round to see how you are. I see you've been blessed with children. "Where's your husband?"

"He's gone to Rome," she replied, "to blow out that blo*dy candle!"

Investigative reporter John Buchanan broke 60 years of silence recently when he uncovered documents showing Prescott Bush's business was seized by Congress in 1942 for trading with the enemy. Now Buchanan has gone even further, documenting Prescott's role in many more Nazi-related businesses as late as 1951. "[Democrats.com co-founder Bob] Fertik and others, including former Justice Department Nazi war crimes prosecutor John Loftus... believe Prescott Bush and the Harrimans should have been tried for treason. Now, say Fertik and Loftus, there should be a Congressional investigation into the Bush family's Nazi past and its concealment from the American people for 60 years. 'The American people have a right to know, in detail, about this hidden chapter of our history,'

"The United States should consider imposing a European-style gasoline tax if it hopes to improve energy security and tackle global warming, the head of Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday.

'The way to get at is to make an economic decision just like in Europe where the fuel prices are seven or eight dollars a gallon," Ford chief executive officer Allan Mulally said. "Then our behavior would change dramatically.'

The current policy of forcing automakers to maintain an average fuel economy level across their product lines is not sufficient to cut gasoline consumption and is harming the industry, Mulally said."

Basically he feels that auto companies can't produce more fuel efficient cars until they're in demand, which won't be until gas is expensive ($3/gallon clearly doesn't cut it).

Do you think we should impose a massive gas tax like Eurpoe in order to combat global warming, as the CEO of Ford suggests?
