I'm (trying) to write a book and so far I have roughly 11,000 words. I know that currently isn't enough, but I'm just curious to know how many words is considered a standard amount in order for a publisher to consider it?

Should it really be up to the government or laws if

-we want people to start treating the environment with care?

-we want our children to learning something in schools and become competitive in the international range?

-we want human beings to live equally with each other?

explain.

Furthermore, feel free to disagree with me. I won't hold it against you

I was really surprised at how many people on here claim to be atheists ( sorry if I misspelled it). Im personally not an atheist but I just wanted to know how being one improves upon your lives if at all because I know personally that having a faith greatly makes my life so much happier and fuller...Im not judging your beliefs, I was just curious. Thanks!

Special teams don't count.
I'd have to say WR on offense and CB on defense.

I was given a best answer to a question I posted involving the void. Bekki B informed me that I misunderstand what the univeverse expanded into. Bekki B states that all the space there is is what the universe expaned into! This means, by definition there can be only be one universe in existance, many others disagree with this. It is becomming obvious to me that everyone is leary of going past the conclusions that are based on the limits of what physistists know down to the last 10-43 sec in time after the big bang came into being. A Swiss physist claims that this time represents the life span of the singularity and that was a state of matter that science does not recognize. Even the most famous equasion of all scientific history, E=MC squared breaks down here, the onlypart of it that existed at that time was the E, therefore the equation was meaningless. The first law of physics to kick in was thermodynamics when the total cold of the void began to absorb the heat of the singularity.

This guy at work (who I considered to be quite a good friend) has invited practically everyone at work (including my boyfriend) to his wedding except me! It’s very weird as my team, and in fact everyone on my floor, is going.

I asked the guy where my invitation was and he just said “Sorry I can’t invite everyone”. Yet he has invited people he hardly knows.

I work with my boyfriend and he really wants to go but says he will pull out on principle if I want him to.

Is it selfish of me to stop my boyfriend going? We had planned to spend that weekend together.

I was watching various documentaries the other day with outspoken athiests. Sometimes, i wondered if they got a little emotional...because they would say things that were perhaps rather exaggerated. I think christianity is in general foolish, and ugly, and it seems to lobotomize a bunch of people...But it also seems to me that the US is the pinnacle of tolerance, ingenuity, and compassion in the western world, if you look at this nation today in the perspective of history...I mean, only 60 years ago black kids couldnt even attend white schools...that would be UNTHINKABLE today.Christianity may be rather annoying, but seriously, lets be honest...its nothing nearly as insane as Islamic extremism. Most christians seem to have views which are, perhaps wrong...but also pretty innocuous in the grand scheme of things. Are we athiest sometimes a little too hard on christians? Are we perhaps sometimes too interested in being correct, and go overboard, when maybe we can forgive harmless stuff?

This caused me to wonder about something. If you suddenly found out that I was really a sixty-five year old retired prostitute from Des Moines with one bad eye and a limp, would my answers still hold value? Would my "friends" and "fans" continue to look for my postings? Would my change in status cause me to be "persona non grata" to the YA community? Does our value depend on our acceptability, or do we have value based on the portion of our souls that we share? Just wondering.

When a molecule impinges on a receptor on a nerve cell in our nose, the receptor recognizes the molecule by its shape. If the shape is 'right' the nerve cell fires and ultimately we experience a sensation of smell. But the molecule itself only has "shape" it has no "smell".

If you disagree, (ie if you think the molecule has BOTH "shape" and "smell" ) are you saying "shape of a molecule" and "smell of a molecule" are two distinct physical properties of a molecule that just magically go together? If that's not what you mean, please explain what you mean.
