My husband and I purchased a new construction home last year. The builder offered to install a radon mitigation system in the home if we tested for radon within 30 days of purchase. Stupidly, we got distracted and never did the radon test on the house.
In talking to several neighbors (one who lives behind us, the other two doors down) we discovered that they did radon tests and the radon levels in their home was really high.
We quickly ran out and purchased a test from Home Depot. I received the results back today and the levels were low, 2.7 and 3.1 for each canister respectively. How accurate are these tests? Can radon be high in one house and literally next door, there is very little radon?
Just wondering if I should retest. We would like to get the basement done and I want to make sure we don't need they system installed.

My father has the most money and will be paying for the wedding. He lives 500 miles away and I only see him every few years. My step dad doesn't have much money but he is always there for me day or night in person, on the phone, or by email without question. I got an ipod nano for my birthday. My brother had an ipod mini with the itunes version 4 cd. I know that you need version itunes version 7 to import songs onto the nano. I tried downloading itunes version 7 from apple.com but I got an error message saying it couldn't download because i have AOL dial up. Is there any way to download version 7 of itunes or buy a disk for it?

I have benefited by the widom of counless people on Yahoo Answers, and I myself try to contribute the best I can to the discussion. Would it be possible in the future to have a place in the normal mind reserved for universal ideas unbiasedly placed, a place where people can resort to to share their ideas and excercise good, despite all the conflicts going on in the world. I think traditional, or steroetypical mind set, that is mainly based upon 'for or against partitions', needs to develop to sophiticated forms to meet the challnges and demands of this age.

He always has mean things to say. He treats me like I'm trash. Talks to me with no respect. I don't understand. We were together for 5 years, he left and now has a new girlfriend. Anything I say, he comes back at me with a nasty attitude. Since the break up he hasn't really been there for his son. He never spends a day alone with his son anymore, his girl is always around and our son is so confused. I told him I thought it was to early for our son to be around someone new. He just got mad and says he doesn't care. Anytime he is around me and our son he is mean and hateful to me. Is there away of avoiding all of that bs. I'm almost 7 months pregnant and I can't deal with the pain he causes. It is hurting me and our son and I want to know when he will sop all of this?

I used a real estate company only bc my friend wanted to help which is an agent. We signed contact in April and closing was in July. In that time we had money problems and decide to move back home which is 2 hrs away from the new house. We backed out a month before closing and the seller has already sold the home. Now my friends company wants their cut from me...which is 2% of home, which is like $4000. Just wondering what happens now. I am not paying that much money for a friend to show me a few house. The house didn't go to close and we lost our $500 deposit. My friend said if I don't call her manager and set up a payment plan that her company will turn it over to a lawyer. So not sure if they are serious or just trying to scare me. I offered to pay her $500 for her work but she wants me to pay more to her company. Just wondering what are my chances of getting sued if I just ignore it and move on with my life in my hometown? Should I contact her manager and offered the $500 to her?

I was on cash assistance 3 years ago because my ex-husband wasn't paying his child support and I was going to college so I could get a better job and support my 3 kids. He always worked under the table so he never filed his taxes. Now, for the first time he files his taxes and I was suppose to get $3600 for back support. I never got it because it went to welfare from the cash assistance I got 3 years ago. Is this fair? He still owes me over $4000 in child support. I have been working and off of welfare since I graduated college in 2004.
