With fin rot, you should see some decay and frayed fins. This might be just the first stages of it. If its very fine and clear gaps in these spots, I think it's less likely a color developement, and more likely some sort of bacteria. Ick is spaced out over the afflicted area, and off the top of my head, that's the only one I know that is white in appearence. I am sure there are others and others will follow up with better advice. I just want to point out, that in cichilds, especially males, as they get older, you can expect to see colors really shift, towards brighter and more distinct, as they reach sexual maturity.

Ditto to Jon V. I will only add that ich can start off only showing on the fins, so it's a possibility too.

Just call your local fish store. You do not want to take anyones advice and kill your fish. Usually you can take in a sample of your tank water and they will test for unnormal levels for you as well(usually for free) might not be related to water levels it could be stress or water temp change. Lots of things can cause ich. Just be safe and call a local fish store.

No its probably ich. if i were you i would head out to your local fish store and buy some macryn plus, it treats just about every disease!!
