I have been seeing this girl for a short period of time. She has lived with a guy for about 7 years that she supports financially and he treats her horribly. She has talked about leaving, and I believe that she truly wants to but I am afraid it will take her quite a while to build up the courage. I have purchased a 5 day vacation in Antigua for the two of us. I plan on asking her to go and letting her know that if she isn't ready it won't hurt my feelings, but that I care about her enough to want to do this. What would your reaction be? Would you be swayed to leave him or would it have no impact? Also, any advice you can give me on how to approach it would be appreciated. Thanks, I need the advice.

...I've just been told that I will be having my gall bladder out within the next 3 weeks. All being well, this will be done via keyhole surgery, although I have been warned this might not be possible.

If it keyhole, does anyone know how long I will need off work, and will I have to not drive for a time?

I had a friend that had huge pots of plants sitting on his porch. He told us they were citronella plants, and if rubbed on it, it would release the smell from the plant, and the mosquitos would leave you alone. I tried it a few times, and it worked. I have asked for this plant before and no one knows what I am talking about. Where can I find one, and what is it called?

Does anyone believe in the gobal warming crap? It is the middle of June and there are brass Monkeys all over the UK looking for welders! It is my belief that the earth is getting colder and colder and it stands to reason when you think about it. The Sun has been burning for a couple of, well for as long as I can remember.!! so it has to have died down a bit. I have just come back from India, working offshore where oil flares that burn 24/ 7 in their hundreds, burning off gas that can not be contained, One flares Gas that every hour would power a small city for a week! and this has been going on for coming up to 30 years! I think the world is more than capable of coping with this. AND!! the oil like the sun like everything. WILL RUN OUT!!

My sister lives with her 3 children and husband about 3 miles away. The problem is, she criticizes me all the time.Anything I buy, she gives comments by saying, "you really did not need this". or she would say, "you could have saved this money for something else" or "you could have bought an used item instead of buying a new one". Also, if something breaks or wont work, she would say, "you could have taken an advice from me before buying it" or she would say, " I already knew it would happen", or she would say, "see I told you".

Other problem is, she would say anything to you, but if you saying a word in response, she would try to dig the dirt out from your childhood diseases even and she would call me by the names& makes me feel guilty about my past.

I never ever say even a word what she buys or what she does with her life even she is a big spender herslef. I even dont owe her a penny but her behaviour kills me.I told her to leave me alone.

What is wrong wth her?

I hear people all the time say- "I could care less about that," or "Well I really could care less."
Isn't the right way of saying it: "I COULD NOT care less?"
By saying you could care less, you are saying that you do actually care a bit. Saying I couldn't care less means there is no possible way of NOT caring about whatever it is as much as you are now. I just think that makes more sense. Tell me what you think.

I just noticed a little advertisement on the Yahoo! Answers page that said "If you can't talk and run at the same time, your running too fast" or something along those lines. I'm not saying every day has to be a really hard run and that runners need an easy day to recover. But Reebok seems to be saying that running hard is bad. They seem to try and market their shoes by trying to make running an easier sport when it is not. Running is hard. I think that some will look at their slogan and say 'Wow, Run Easy, OK!' and think a 5K race is a cake-walk.

I am 36 weeks measuring 39 weeks. The past 2 days i have been having contractions . They are not that painfull and they are not 10 mins apart . (Some are and some are not.) Im also having crampy PMS feelings and my lower back hurts. I am also having alot of discharge. I dont know when i should or if i should call my DR. Is this the start of labor or is it wishful thinking?

I am 30 years old (single, no dependants) and have started back to college to try to finish my bachelor's degree. For medical reasons, I've only been going to school part-time, and have not been working. I also currently live with my parents who claimed me on their taxes. They are unable to help me with school so I've been attending on Pell Grants. I have an opportunity to interview for a part-time job at the university library. How would this affect my Pell Grant? I'd appreciate any feedback.

ok...at the age of 32 this is REALLY silly but i've always hidden from the window when there's thunder and lightning.
( just had a storm over North of London)

i'm convinced that if i'm on the computer or watching the tv and there's a thunder storm i'll get zapped by a bolt of lightning....?

is anyone else scared of lightning?

so they can charge you whatever they want for monthly service, and deposits? and they know you'll pay it cause who can live without electric and gas? it's not like cable and phone you can live without...i don't want to take a cold shower, and sit in a dark house.....anyone else think it's a load of crap?
